I have that May 28th D & P show and the version of Purple Rain he played that night is one of my very very favourite performances ever First song I ever heard him perform was Xemplify at the Melbourne soundcheck 21 October 2003 Elephants and Flowers was the first song with vocal I heard him play. Let's Go Crazy was the first Main show song he played that night. Last song was Purple Rain at the Sydney Opera House 20 February 2016 - I remember at the time thinking it would probably be the last time I'd see him but still does not compute that he would be gone just over 2 months later

i was the same after the 16th- knew id never witness a show like that one again. very hard to believe he has gone

my sister and my son came with me to melbourne to see the 14th may show, i managed to get a single ticket to the 15th and rang her in the hotel room when controversy started: she was a bit upset he didnt play controversy it on the monday night
ended up going back on the 30th to see the last aus show: making up for lost time

Thanks for posting dopedog and sorry to hear you missed the rest of that show (I hope your wife has recovered since). If it can make you feel better, even though I went to most of his aftershows in London that year I didn't go to this one either. I checked the setlist and you're right it was a really good one... Did you attend any of the other shows at the IndigO2?

Isn't it cool our histories are so close, it is like we just missed each other. Like you I was sad he did not play Gold on the 15th, I love that song, the consolation was he played Days of wild with the last encore at the show.

That show was great, as Public Enemy guested and it was a lot of fun

.

Also cool to see, so many of us saw Prince perform in his last Piano and Microphone tour, despite the small venues and limited seats, it is obvious most of us true fams got to see Prince one last time.

im just sorry that my husband never got to see him live- but so glad our son did- he can say the first act he saw live was Prince- twice!
