Tropical/caribbean style songs

I co own/run a community steel orchestra with my partner and after years of begging him to arrange a p song he's finally up for doing a cover. I personally want him to do gold or mbgitw but because we're starting our carnival setlist he's only willing to do a reggae/Caribbean style song. Are there any others besides blue light? Sure! Don't know if it's entirely appropriate for a youth orchestra, with its "shots of new spunk" and "c'mon let me do ya do ya's," but it's a great song, one of my favorites.

(Also served as a handy response to two org questions tonight, yours and the "best basslines" query.)

I'll keep you guys posted once he starts work on it. Will be great to bring Prince to the Notting Hill carnival audience via steel pan.

Interesting! I've never thought of the sun moon and stars to have have a carribean/tropical vibe to it..But looking out for it now I can sort of hear it. Good Luck!
