Yeah I'm sure that's what FlyOnTheWall meant to type.
Prince's vocal effects on that spoken bit at the end of that song are quirky. Shounds like he ish shpeaking with a pretend lishthp... Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

That bit always sounds weird to me too, wonder what was going on there? RIP

since there's review threads already i won't review them here either but these 2 albums combined are great albums. once you get it out of your head that he's not trying to make sott 2 or comparing it to any past works, then you can really sit down and enjoy them. i thought phase 1 was terrible at first but i grew to appreciate it. phases 1 and 2 + plectrum and art official age are all great works and you can't deny that they're actually something "new" and different coming from him. he was truly inspired more so than he has been in recent years. i just wish he would've gotten to play with his band with mono neon, kirk, donna, etc.

He reminds me so much of Miles Davis in not wanting to look back and wanting to try new things constantly.

I like the fact that Phase 1 shows Prince in sync with current music, and Phase 2, a very organic vibe. [Edited 2/7/17 3:26am]

Both albums are outstanding. It was sad they didn't get attention when P was alive. So many good songs.

As someone that grew up with the undeniable classics.. 1978-1988 I NEVER in a BILLION Years would've thought i'd see a day when Prince released music that i had little to no interest in.. That day came around the Lotus Flower era and unfortunately it remained until the end. He's still Beautiful and the Baadest though!

I don't think either album is among the top half of his career, but they are enjoyable enough to me. I think Art Official Age is his last great album. Nonetheless, Prince has a great legacy even if his final studio albums weren't all that amazing. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!
