I hope he had the playroom removed. Too many memories and pain.

I recall reading that There was a house on The PP property that was demolished near The end of his marriage with Mani. PeRhaps The playroom was in the house that was Demolished.

Well I can tell you all now that very show is currently putting together a Prince edition. They contacted me with regard to participating along with Cat. Made it more than clear what we think about that.

Yeah exactly Laura which I find horrifying.

yeahthat And I think that music was like a wife to him because he really was married to his music. Not to say that he didn't wholeheartedly love Mayte, because I believe that he did, but I also believe that he was simultaneously married to his music. Music was his love, his escape, and his work.

I haven't watched it and I won't. I think it's revolting that CNN would make such a show about a recently deceased person who means so much to so many people. It's the lowest form of "journalism" - absolutely shameful.

Well that took me back to square one. I think a wide range of people honestly want to know what happened. Funny how you see things differently that you never saw before, not sure if it's due to the power of suggestions or if it's that 20/20 hindsight kicking in.

I totally agree with you. I got sucked into watching it because I miss him and would have just about watched anything to see his face on television again. Instead of this inconsiderate drivel, It should have been a respectful documentary about his prolific life.

Spike Lee might do him justice. Or the people who do "The American Masters" series for PBS.

All over Facebook there are sad and depressed fans. Apparently some people are masochist. I don't get it. The previews of this show gave a pretty good indication of what it would be and it was nothing good.

IMHO it wasn't negative at all, but it will open wounds. I'm not angry or upset I saw it.

One of the women interviewed, Alisyn Camerota, said something to the effect of "many believe it [death of his son] was something he never got over."

A musician friend of mine, who had a place in Spain around this time, would often see Prince walking around. He told me that after the child's death, Prince looked very sad and distant to the point of seeming numb - very understandable, obviously.

I guess I don't understand why people would watch something that will open wounds or make them upset/angry (not referring to you). It's not like what it was about was a surprise to anyone (or that there was any new credible information in it). confused

Chazz his cousin was on it and you could see he doesn't know what happened, which opens up more questions by itself.

And just on GP they did say he retweeted that fan's tweet.

For me, to see if there was anything new even if it was just a smidge and also not to go on others heresay on what was shown. There was something new to me, how long he was dealing with severe pain.

No it wasn't. There are things they could have said to make it more slanderous and they cleaned it up or omitted it, things we've read several times. Definitely not a TMZ move.

I didn't think it was that bad either, the thing I hated the most, was just the channel it was on, the o.j. Story before and the menendez brothers after, and the ads in between were bad too. Princes story and o.j's story on the same channel is insulting to him and us. The thing I took away was it seemed to me none of the people interviewed were aware of a terminal illness or a drug addiction at all, and are in the same boat as his fans...what the hell really happened, nothing makes sense. I know people will say those people were not close to him, but if he was dying you would hope he would have called or communicated in some way with Andre, he was more like one of princes brothers than any of his real brothers...

The show seemed to be a decent accounting of what transpired. When the investigative reporter, Ian Halperin stated how did this happen and said it was enablers who were greedy. This seemed like a fair assessment considering the fact that Prince was left alone at Paisley on 4/20 after all that happened with him in the prior week. I have felt that just leaving him alone showed an indifference on the part of the staff he was surrounded with.

I'm sure a lot of people watched it for the same reason I did... ^^^^^

On a side note, It could have been worst. I just wished they would make an in-depth, thoughtful and respectful documentary about his life for all his fans to appreciate and be proud of.

It was totally unnecessary for Sara Sidner to relay the anecdote that Duane and Lorna Nelson told their lawyer that Prince was abusing Percocet. Both Duane and Lorna are no longer alive to confirm or deny these claims and by Sidner bringing it up, it allowed her to make Prince out to be a drug addict without saying he was a drug addict. That's why I knew this special was a joke from day 1. The investigative journalist took a lot of liberty with what Prince said in concert on April 14th. With the exception of Owen Husney, Andre Cymone, Van Jones and Chazz Smith, the contributors on this special were pointless.

I felt there wasn't much that wasn't chronicled before, but I certainly found the last 5 or 10 minutes to be difficult to watch. It certainly "took me back". Otherwise, I don't feel the show was negative. I think CNN overwhelmingly framed the death as accidental due to an addiction to pain medicine to treat severe pain. And all of the people that were "interviewed" seemed to genuinely have affection for Prince and spoked overwhelmingly fondly of him.

Oh well, I guess we all have our perspective...

I didn't go through every post in this thread, but the most telling thing I heard was that the pills he took were mislabled, and my takeaway was that it was mislabled in a way that seemed to be on purpose. If this is actually the case, it's quite troubling that it's logical to think that he was purposely given a bottle of pills that were labled as percocet or hydrocodone or whatever, but the pills were actually lethal doses of fentanyl. Extremely troubling, and I now look back on all of the conspiracy theories that evolved initially with a more open mind.

Lots of illegal drugs are cut with fentanyl because it is cheap and a tiny amount of it dulls your pain. A lethal dose of fentanyl is just a few grains so shoddy manufacturing like in China is to blame for Prince's death, not a deliberate act. This is the same thing that is happening all over this country to people addicted to these pain pills.
