So a copy of the original "Wally" was made...

NO TROLL THREADS! NO SOLICITING FOR BOOTLEGS! Discussion is fine, so long as the bootleg is not being promoted e.g. pre-release; requests/offers to share or copy, and links to download or bootleg sites are not. Posting Prince and associated artist videos from sites such as YouTube is also not allowed. Posts of this nature will be deleted and repeat offenders will be first warned, and then banned. Troll threads, fake tracklists, and attention seeking rumor threads will be also be swiftly dealt with. These rules are strictly enforced! -- luv4u

...confirmation in the link from Susan Rogers that a copy of the track was made by Prince before the multi tracks were erased.

That's right, it's just going to be another song. SR also talked about Moonbeam Levels with similar enthusiasm so I certainly wouldn't expecting anything earth shattering from Wally.

I took it to mean that the copy was made from the original recording.

SR said he destroyed the song, then, "I heard he may have re-recorded the song later".

There is nothing in this interview to suggest that the original recording still exists.

She's not entirely clear on that. She says "Then he made his cassette and then he said 'ok, now put all 24 tracks in record and erase it'", suggesting that he had the song copied to cassette before he wiped out the 24 tracks?

Exactly - she clearly states that Prince had a cassette dubbed before it was erased. The question now is if that cassette (or any copies) surivive today.

There is! She states at 4.19 that Prince made a copy of the original version into cassette before the erasing of the recording tape happened.

Some more information on the song will be shared soon - the re-record from the following day, that is.

But given the current tax situation with the Estate, there's a particularly relevant lyric that I'd like to share, and that's a line where he says of Susannah, "I'd give her all my money before I'd give it all to Uncle Sam".

At this point, the song can't possibly live up to expectations.

Militant, you've heard Wally?

.

If so, then I'm very happy about that. That means at least one version of it survived and will (read: damn well better) eventually be made available. Hurry up estate!!

Also, she didn't speak very highly of Adonis & Bathsheba, which I think is a stunning song, so I guess it's just her opinion.
