Love the shy impish smile at the end.
P's so cute when he's being adorably profane.

He sure didn't mind calling them out on the big stage, didn't he?

A 45 year old man behaving like a petulant toddler in public, ten-plus years after signing a deal against the advice of his entourage that he boasted was the biggest record deal ever in a press release that Warner bosses were baffled to read because it featured a ridiculous number that was never going to happen. . And as we know from Prince's vcook he was still obsessing about having "the biggest deal ever" at the end of the 2000s. . Yeah, let's celebrate that. © Bart Van Hemelen

Petulant toddlers don't pronunciate so well. You're so much FUN, Bart! Not. > He was sharing a moment of triumph toward a new level of achievement, and against a record label that had placed a stranglehold on him for a time, and yeah, he placed the noose of that unspectacular contract around his own neck. Too bad that he signed that last WBR deal, though, really. It did not suit his better interests at the time and he did not want to believe this. [Edited 1/14/17 12:03pm]

Why do you always have a hard time understanding the inherent conflicts between Art and Commerce? Prince was a renegade artist in a business that rewards conventional copycat mediocrity. Yes he was often hypocritical, rebellious, antagonistic toward the system...all interesting dualites that made there way in his art from day one. History has proven Prince correct on a lot of his beliefs toward the music industry. It is a truly broken mess for the majority of artists and consumers.

If a man named Fart is complaining about someone standing up for what's rightfully theirs, then who's the poor idiot? Say whatever you want about Prince and WB, this young man had the wisdom to cleary see early on that he would be buying mansions and stocks and affording college degrees for record executives and their families, while he worked his butt off to make them all rich.

Fart's still holding that grudge from his youth because a rock star exhibited a rightful attitude and didn't bow down to Fart. That post is still around. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

For the love of any God available Bart, will you get a girlfriend or boyfriend, or meditate or visit the park or do something to escape this death spiral of hate. If you want to hate, hate poverty or disease. Prince was successful financially. Sorry that bothers you. Prince was successful artistically. Sorry if that bothers you. Prince had more money than he could ever spend. Sorry about that. Prince fought for independence. Once again, sorry. Prince changed many, many lives. Very sorry. Presumably according to your bizarre and otherworldly logic one should stop fighting for a better system once you are 21.

He should be a lobbyist for Warner Bros or the current state of the industry.

There's often no need to expose our affiliations on this board, but I'd be surprised if he were not involved in the industry in some capacity given the consistent state of his comments bashing Prince's independent moves and every decision he's made with a record label. I end my speculation, though--he's definitely pretty mad at the guy for whatever reasons he has!

Never a dull moment with Bart.

You mean always monotonous. Let him continue giving Prince a good kicking even when he has passed. [Edited 1/15/17 15:42pm]

. Oh look, famz continue to make up the same shit over and over again. Newsflash: this "you oppose P so you must be paid by WB" bullshit is 20+ years old. © Bart Van Hemelen

Prince & The Band is not a song I ever expected to hear an accoustic version of! RIP

I understand your tenderness, but right about now you've been asking for this brand of popularity on this board. I clearly did not say that you work for WBR. Who's making up what? > Was I right about your industry connections, though? You do seem to toe the line of industry expectations on the artist/corporate relationship.

BVH. Still the biggest board dbag ever. Frequenting the board of an artist that he/she clearly detests (just to bitch about said artist) is the epitome of screaming for attention. (Insert something clever here)
