I'll echo what everyone else has said, the horns make the album what it is. great She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

I thought the horns were the big reason the album turned out so good. . It helps that I like variety in instrumentation a lot though. Some people have an image of a guitar as being the coolest instrument and I don't feel that way personally. . With that said, I bet if he had used synths instead he'd have been seeing reviews about how "wow this album just sounds like Prince... again". | |

It's funny - I like the use of a large horn section better on studio recordings than live. And I'd rather listen to Prince's guitar playing live than on most studio recordings. I like HNR2 for the horns and the warmth throughout. I also listed to Da Bourgeoisie this morning - the "finished version with horns - and thought it would fit in well on HNR2.
