i figured we'd be hearing something mid february and possibly a release in or around april.

your thread title is very misleading though since there is no official cancellation at all yet.

However it was suppose to be January. If it was going to be out it would be on the release schudule for this month. It is not and I will not be surprised if we never see it. WB was never really interested in this project they just wanted to put out another greatest hits that no one was interested in buying in the first place. Same stupid company still doing stupid things and now they can't blame Prince anymore.

Hopefully they're taking their time and making sure they get the whole package right.

I'd expect to see them aiming to release it around the date he passed. I reckon we'll hear something about it around the end of the month.

It's gonna be released. There is nothing stopping it from being released now. When it will be released, I'm gonna crank "Darling Nikki" up so fucking loud, that I'm gonna bust my eardrums like popcorn.

The OP needs to change the thread title or laura needs to link to the January announcement.
It'll be out this year. Probably in April, maybe early summer, hopefully not next holidays, definitely 2017.

What a completely misleading, useless thread. They said early 2017. And they don't need a long lead time between announcing a date and releasing it. 4Ever was announced in mid-October and released at the end of November. They can wait until March to announce a release date and still have it out by April.

Yeah, let's be honest... without Prince here, no one's gonna be changing their mind on what will and wont happen. Which is surprisingly quite depressing to think about.
