Starfish & Coffee '95 Curious about this.. anyone any idea why Prince revisited this track and re-recorded it in 95?
Seems like an unusual thing to do.. Obviously at the time he put down tracks he toyed with different versions of them - the whole SOTT/Crystal Ball period springs to mind - but to go back to a track that was nearly 10 years old doesn't seem to be typical of him?
If anyone has any views/info I'd be pleased to hear them..

do you mean the one for Muppet's tonight?
seems there was a project to celebrate the birth of their child called "happy tears" which was canceled for obvious reasons. [Edited 12/6/16 13:29pm] "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

maybe that's it..
I've heard it on an (ahem) bootleg.. and wasn't sure what the origin was

I always thought the 'Happy Tears' thing was just a plausible theory. The outro is a bit dark musically for the concept of Happy Tears, not that it means much. Listen2Prince !!
U can listen to a different Prince project every week for a year! Sometimes U might have to double (or triple) up on related albums to make it fit, tho. https://listen2prince.blogspot.com/
