So, is there a 'Clean' 4EVER out there?

It appears that that 'Edited' version Amazon had on preorder came to nothing. Saying that, I'm sure I read somewhere that someone had bought a clean copy on the day of the standard release. Can anyone confirm? I'd be curious to know which version of Sexy MF would be on there

Walmart.com had two copies listed on their site, one being noted as "Edited". I don't know what was edited at all on that, though.

Of course, I can't find that now on their site, off hand.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Yup, it appears to have disappeared on there too. '2 copies' would normally suggest they at least had it in stock at some point tough. I think it's safe to say this release was cancelled, unless someone else can confirm otherwise...

Don't forget My Name Is Prince is also the album/uncensored version.

.

Personally, I would have prefered the censored single versions.

.

I've not seen a clean version - just the jewel case and digipack versions.

I hate censored versions. I mean really, what's the point? The original version is what I want. I can't imagine Sexy MF censored.

I thought the censored version of Sexy MF was good fun (much as Count The Days), and I can actually play that one to kids!

no it's not, it's the clean single edit. the only cussing on the whole cd is sexy mf, would've liked to have had the clean edit to that too.

My copy has several edits including the word ass deleted from get off - it's still full of 23 positions in a one night stand though. I would not have bought it if I
Knew.

that's the 7" edit, it has some of the 10min version in it plus no solo and fades out

A lot of the songs are single edits, which sometimes cuts out certain cuss words. Oddly, "Sexy MF" is intact, "Head" is on there, etc. "Gett Off" is an edit I'm vaguely familiar with. (There are a gazillion edits of that song on various single releases.)

I tend to believe, overall, there is one version out there.

"Sexy MF" is edited on a single somewhere. He put an OWWWAH every time he says "fucker". I think Prince was fucking with WB when he did that. It was already not radio friendly, then he really fucks up the edited version.

There was also Sexy Mutha, which was a B-side on one of the other prince singles.

But of course, that's a complete remix, not the original track at all. And not as good.

No blank spots but a lot of awooa's, or however you spell the noise that prince makes from time to time!

There's a clean version on the maxi single too called Sexy Mutha. Also the redone 2007(?) version with the 'Everybody Dance Now' sample.

As to the point, with two young children it's quite nice to still be able to listen to the song in their presence wink

RIP sad

I'm starting to believe so too. I seem to recall Dr Funkenberry announcing it though; not that he's much of an authority on WBR releases anymore but I thought it may have at least meant it was in fact on their radar...

Sexy Mutha was the B-side of the US 45 of "My name is Prince"

Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.
