She certainly doesn't seem comfortable on the guitar like she is on bass. Another thing with these shows that is top notch is the horn players are actually dancing quite a bit. I know on Funkenberry's podcast Adrian Crutchfield talked about how hard it is to play and incorporate dance moves at the same time. I'm really impressed with the horns. And I love that Prince decided to do Courting Time and allow each horn player to get a solo. He definitely gave them the spotlight which is cool.Andre Gouche is the bass player during Shows 1 & 2? Maybe Ida was less experienced than him and mostly used to playing with 3rdEyeG3rl, so Prince put her on a regular guitar? Maybe Andre was more used to playing with a horn section than she? Good observation about each horn getting a solo during Courtin Time. I didn't notice that really. I am also super-impressed with this horns and loved their dancing too. Not sure. Ida started working with Prince in 2010. She was the bass player for the Welcome 2 tours and then got folded into 3EG. Paisley Park is in your heart

Watching these videos again and it's not entirely true that Prince didn't play an instrument the first two nights. During let's work he banged on the cymbals. Anyway regardless of whether he played the first two nights or not the band was very good and you can tell the crowd appreciated it. Paisley Park is in your heart

I only got to see an our and 15 min of the 3rd show before they took it down, but he made up for the lack of instrument playing on the 3rd night. Great show, he gutted me with Sometimes It Snows In April.

I was watching the videos again last night and she does look a little funny on Show 1 playing the guitar sitting down with those sunglasses on. 😎 | |
