984 songs in Prince's Vault and counting.

Tyka announced that they've cataloged 984 songs in Prince's Vault so far with more coming... I think that was the biggest thing people missed from her AMA speach last night.

That is not what she said. She never mentioned the words "catalogued" or "vault". LOCK THIS THREAD!

I do not believe that it what she was referencing. When she says 984 I believe she was talking about what he HAS released, and the COUNTING part, is what is in reference to the vault.

I think she was talking about his normal catalogue too. It's a misleading title for sure. Guess it was for attention.

haha what do you think that means? "LOCK THIS THREAD". Jeezus dude, chill out.

People like you forget that the Vault hols ALL of Prince unreleased and RELEASED music. Sooooo, take the number of songs Prince has officially released, then minus it from 984. That how many unreleased songs they have cataloged at this point.

Except he hasn't released anywhere near that many tracks - it's much closer to 500.

1) Edit your original post and change the thread title. No need to mention the vault at all.

2) In reference to him being one of the worlds most prolific songwriters - She's saying Prince already released 984 songs, and they're not done. (She's likely including all the associated artists over the years + the songs he gave away)

I guess by the estates reckoning "Moonbeam Levels" will officially be the 985th Prince song to be released.

I agree with you leadline. I believe that is what she meant too. What he has already released plus the vault.

Alan Leeds, Prince’s former tour manager and president of Paisley Park Records until 1992, told the writer that the artist recorded every concert he ever did.

“You could do a box set of 10 CDs of live concerts from the various eras of his career,” said Leeds.

I would not be suprised if that is released for a price to fans in the future.

And that's what I'm waiting for. I thinks that's what's going to bring the most excitement among fans new and old. It certainly make the biggest news splash when they are finally put together and released.

Info not think it should be a massive 10 album collection. Thats far too much to digest all at once. It should be carefully put together collections spanning specific eras.

You people.

She referred to SONGWRITING. HE has WRITTEN over 984 songs. She was referring to his wanting to be remembered as a prolific songwriter.

Not the same thing as having recorded them all.

Reading comprehension is a wonderful thing.

---Why don't you just wait and see what happens. Why is it so hard to believe that there are 900 songs that have not been releashed he said in 86 that there was 200.

He said in the late 90s/early 2000s that the vault contained "upwards of 1000" completed songs. I would imagine it could be twice that many by now.

1) No.

2) She didnt say "released". And it could not have meant "written", because she followed it up with "and counting". He cannot write songs where he's at now.

BONUS: He hasnet released 984 songs.

You are 100% categorically wrong. First. I'm referring to the AMA video. I didn't READ anthing, but nice try.

Also, She couldn't have meant "written", because she this is EXACTLY what she said:

"... and with 984 titles to his credit, (and here is the importatnt part) AND COUNTING he has done just that..."

Prince cannot write songs anymore... There is only what he's done (as in the past)

Of which 841 have been released.

(My list actually shows a total of 1286 songs after I tidied up PrinceVault's list.)
