Yes it was CHUM. Thank you. I like her previous work better than Hello as well .Though I do like it for what it was. To me it had an 80's feel to it and I think she was experimenting. From what she said her new album sounds like it might be closer to the style of some of the ballads on Superconductor...she mentioned strings and just beautiful sounding music. I saw she was working with Daniel Jiménez and Keaton Simons recently. She's really excited about it.

I agree,I think some of the songs were written before meeting Prince.I recall during the NSJ Festival she was performing Nothing More as More Than This-not the Roxy Music song. Then it was changed to Nothing More.I think they may have collaborated on more than was said at first. She said recently she wrote The Story Of You and I with Prince and I kind of think When Stars Collide may have been a collaboration as well.

Mediocre? Seriously? Have you listened to her Hello EP? The song "Don't Ever Say" is hauntingly beautiful, with amazing depth for a twenty-something-year-old. "Tongue Tied" is another jewel. Not to mention her critically acclaimed album, Superconductor, which, besides the slamming title track, has beauties like "Nothing More," and "Yellow Gold." And, one other thing that sets her apart from other protegés is the fact that her first Prince-produced album was her sophomore album. By the time she met Prince, she had already scraped up the money to independently produce her very well-received first album, Unfresh, at twenty-years-old. Some will never be able to admit it, but Prince was impressed by more than Andy's beauty. She is a serious talent.

Yeah it's fine, very commercial and by the numbers to my ears, it doesn't do much for me. HOWEVER, there's no point going down the route of comparing what I like with what you like. If she touches your soul then that's reason enough for it to exist, I hope she keeps at it.

I agree. She should be on Facebook at 4 PM Pacific time for Music Monday.She did two songs from Oui Can Luv last week so I'm curious what she will sing today. I also agree with what you said about P's harem philosophy...I doubt Andy would put up with that.

I think Prince's heart was broken because he had pushed Andy away, I believe, when his health crisis emerged, unbeknownst to her. I think he figured that he could still see her, but Andy, apparently, wasn't having it. I also think he had led her to expect marriage, with every intention of going back to the altar, but everything changed with the health news. All Andy knew was that he was pushing her away. So, they were both miserable; and he was doing everything he could to return to her good graces--except giving her what she wanted: marriage. I think Andy was like, no ring, no'ting. Sadly, they spent his last days mostly apart.

Thanks for the heads-up. I just listened to the interview (and let me first say that Prince's phone voice is swoon-worthy!!!!). He mentioned the "new guitarist, Andy Allo," whose songs he "couldn't stop singing," which, I think, pretty much means he couldn't stop thinking about her. Vertigo only came up at the end when the radio hosts mentioned that they were giving away free tickets, provided by Live Nation, to an epilepsy organization. They then mentioned his admission to Tavis about having epilepsy as a child, which is when he mentioned having a "couple" of recent bouts of vertigo, which he hoped didn't return. Here is the link.

I'm not sure. I think he was in LA for the AMA's and for promo for Phase1. It was the week of Sept 7th. I read reports on twitter Prince was at Andy's show on September 10th. When our correspondent was abruptly summoned to an audience with the legendary artist in his Minneapolis studios, he had no idea what to expect...

We are literally sitting at Prince’s feet: feet, it’s perhaps worth noting, that are wearing a pair of flip-flops with huge platform soles teamed with socks. The socks and flip-flops are white, as is the rest of his outfit: skinny flared trousers, a T-shirt with long sleeves, also flared. As skinny as a teenager, sporting an afro and almost unnecessarily handsome at 57 years old, Prince looks flatly amazing, exuding ineffable cool and panache while wearing clothes that would make anyone else look like a ninny is just one among his panoply of talents.

We are seated at his feet because we are supposed to be asking Prince questions: we’ve been summoned to Paisley Park at short notice, apparently because Prince “had a brainstorm in the middle of the night, two nights ago” and decided this was the best way to announce a forthcoming European tour.

First, there was a tour of the studio accompanied by Trevor Guy, who works for Prince’s record label NPG: he’s friendly, effusive about his boss’s talents and a little evasive when someone asks him whereabouts in Minneapolis Prince actually lives. (“He doesn’t live here. I don’t know where he lives.”)

Then we were told we were getting a treat, which turned out to be listening to some cover versions Prince’s current protege, Andy Allo, recorded with the man himself on guitar. While we’re listening to Andy Allo sing Roxy Music’s More Than This, Prince suddenly appears on the stage and beckons us over. Read More...

Luvstream was what Prince called the stream of Oui Can Luv on Tidal. He invited the media to announce the European tour then played the album for everyone.He kind of made it like an event on twitter and asked the fans to please wait to listen to the Tidal stream until he started it at PP so everyone would be listening together.

Andy's "Music Monday" on her Facebook was pretty emotional tonight. She smiled through it, but she looks so sad. She performed a gorgeous mash-up of "When Stars Collide" and her verses from "This is What it Feels Like." For her closer, she sang an unreleased, achingly haunting song, presently called "One Step Closer," but that could change, perhaps to "Close to God." It is to be part of her upcoming album.
