Hi!

I am writing what's basically known as an "oral history," (...except it's a written history--using the written words of individuals rather than transcribing verbal interviews with them) of folks' experience grieving so strongly for Prince--one of my main themes deals with the effect of all the video content now viewable on the internet, where there was almost nothing before his death (at least to those of us, like me, who were ignorant about finding/sharing those amazing performances).

I'm exploring the idea that at least some of us are (belatedly, and rather ashamedly) sort of getting to know him--his art, his amazing performance abilities--at the same time we are coming to terms with his death, and whether this (for me) continual watching of him being so alive and incredible is contributing to an ongoing sense of loss and sadness--it really doesn't seem to be fading much.

I know I have been very surprised at how significant this mourning, for lack of a better term, has been for me and I think for some of you as well. I've been very grateful to be able to come here and feel at ease expressing and reading about this experience.
