I remember seeing that. That version had a few extra verses that were removed in the recorded version. Foot prints on my heart you're the only one who's seen my scars. She did seem upset at the beginning of the video.I think I like that version better than the one on her LP Hello.
Perhaps she is giving hints or "keeping something up her sleeve" as a means for future sales of her releases. Am beginning to think we have learned all we are going know about Prince's live and his loves. Although, I hope I am wrong.

Yes you can tell she's much more comfortable with the style she has now. I think Prince was going for a younger Betty Mabry Davis and it didn't work with Andy. Also it seemed Andy was distancing herself from Prince.He kept going to see her shows though and they seemed to at least be on friendly terms last year.Andy did speak at Prince's Apollo induction in June and Van Jones posted on her Instagram that they missed her at the Prince Tribute and sent her "much love"so she was most likely invited but chose not to attend.Dr.Funk said in podcast that Andy was going to attend the L.A. memorial but decided not to which he said was "understandable"He also said he's friends with Andy and invited her on the podcast but told her she didn't have to talk about Prince if she didn't want to.

The video at The Mint was recorded in April 2014 and the other was last April I believe,around the time Hello was released.

I always thought it strange that JH would reveal such personal revelations that Prince supposedly shared with her, creating a definite impression. I forget, wasn't this in the NY Times, or was it in another interview? In any case, whatever JH was doing (or not doing) with Prince, it doesn't compare to his relationship with Andy. Besides which, she had to look at Andy's picture on P's desk any time she entered the Galaxy room. Meanwhile, Andy was in LA pursuing her singing, modeling, and acting. I do agree that the whole big band, funk thing is not her best medium. Her voice is made for acoustics...and she was blessed to have Prince pour himself into her as her guitar instructor for the years they were together. I think that's why he released their acoustic album (I believe, a first for him). She had just begun to play when they met, having been trained as a pianist.

I'm not sure of the politics of the Official Tribute or the family memorials. She was, however, at one of the earliest tributes, along with Maceo Parker--who has also been absent from all the tributes--when Prince's marker was dedicated on the Apollo Walk of Fame on June 13. I never thought of JH as a romantic relationship with Prince but first of all, the guy was single. All the power to him if he could attract these younger women. Secondly, when you're spending all these hours mentoring people because you love music so very much, it might be hard not to develop feelings sometimes.

We can look at his life and we will continue to do that, but the bottom line is that right now, Prince is with God and has seen what he needs to about his shortcomings on earth. He is sorry for any mistakes, and anyone he hurt. But that is not the sum of his life. This man overcame a lot and a lot of people depended on him from a very young age.
Prince made mistakes but he was not a mistake. He gave a lot of people a lot of things. His true nature was basically good.
That is why all the women he was with love him still. They understand much more than we do. All is forgiven on both ends. There is only Love now.
Andy has improved greatly on guitar...no doubt she learned a lot from Prince. Prince was very supportive of her career still. I saw that he tweeted his congratulations to her when she received the Independence Excellence Award in L.A. last November.Prince was so excited for her!

I know Andy is probably saying nothing out of respect for P...But I do think she would be in a position to clear up a lot of speculation as to his later years, health issues, and state of mind... . I wonder if she will ever speak out or, indeed, if anyone will ever feel able to ask her about it... .
That's the thing, Dibblekins, I don't think Prince revealed his health issues to her. If she loves Prince as much as I think she does, and if she had any idea of a health crisis, I don't believe anything could have stopped her from being by his side for the duration, married or not. Instead, I believe, he just pulled away--until she walked. Then, it seems, he put considerable effort into trying to pull her back in, but Ms. Andy, afraid to let her guard down again, I think, wanted him to put a ring on it. Period. Full stop. And, I doubt that she will ever speak out about their relationship.
Too sad - and I am sure you're right re him pulling away with no explanation as to why. . Nevertheless, one can never say never re her one day telling her story. I'm sure it would be greeted with compassion and empathy.

This album was actually released on Tidal by Prince, back in November, but only for 12 hours. Once he leaked it, that put it out there. I hope that the estate will soon formally release it. That way, all of us clamoring for it can purchase the CD.

Sheila was technically a protege and she got 3 albums and was around a lot longer than 2 years. Andy had 2 albums if you count Oui Can Luv plus the duets they did. She said they wrote and recorded a lot more music that hasn't been heard.
