A few weeks later I saw them in Budapest. It was just her and Shelby (what a different type of singer !) doing the background-vocals, but they seemed to harmonize quite well, the subtle and the powervoice
Anyway, after Superconductor - which is a great album (minus the titlesong maybe, which I always scip..) I checked out all of her stuff and I was lucky to see her live with band in Vienna in 2013 (without Prince ) I think that the accoustic style -like on Oui can luv (which I specially love) fits her best. I can just recommend to watch her MusicMonday-gigs on FB !
My appreciation for her art is constantly growing over the years. She's got the voice that "goes under my skin", she is a talented songwriter, a passionate performer, lovely, beautiful and ambitious. Prince must have been feeling and thinking the same - looking at these photos posted in this thread we can see how "happy" he looked like when Andy was around....
After P started to record and tour with 3rdEyegirl and working with Judith Hill I thought that was it with them 2. So I was gladly surprised when he started to "promote" Andy before her planned Europ-tour last year (put Oui can luv on Tidal for instance....even for ridiclous 12 house...) and announced the start of his Piano&Mic-tour for the day after her her planned concert in Vienna !!!.....which stiirred up big hopes in me for an aftershow of them together, which sadly did not happen and will never happen again in this life
But to close this post in a positiv way and as someone wrote in an earlier post: Andy Allo is one of those (fortunate) artists, who got trained by Prince to help us over the loss of himself, isn't she ?
PS: I think it was time 4 a thread like this, because until now she got treated like a stepchild here on prince.org IMHO
Thanks for sharing. A couple of weeks ago, I posted a video on this thread of Andy singing "The Look of Love". Is that the concert you attended?

I hearing her sing "The Look of Love," and if Prince's reaction, while she sang it at the North Sea Jazz festival in 2011 is any indication, so did he!! He stood across stage watching her, with his arms wrapped around his torso in a self-embrace. It's like he was hugging her from afar, or he was imagining her touch. I tell you, he definitely had the look of love on his face. I loved seeing them look so happy.

Is this the performance that you are referring to? https://vimeo.com/34307621 No, but this is another good one!! The one you just posted was when P (the hottie!!!) was wearing the muscle shirt and the do-rag...and KILLING the keyboards!!! I think this show was in Denmark. It's amazing how every single Prince show is so different, including his appearance.

Can anyone make out what Prince says about, what sounds like, "angels" at the end of this clip? It sounds like he says, "There are angels..." but I can't make out his last word(s). Please help if you can. It's interesting, to me, because Robin Power reports that he told her, many years ago, that he no longer believed in angels. Perhaps he had come full circle in this regard...

Hi FlyOnTheWall....this is what I hear (love my earbuds!): "There are Angels....in the Netherlands". I can even hear someone shout "like you" after he says that! Sweet.... Hmmmm.....wonder if he was talking about Andy or the audience? He does say: "ain't that nice" before the Angels comment and imagine he was referencing the just performed "Let's Get it On". Wonder why he stopped believing in Angels? "Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence......." ~ DESIDERATA ~ Max Ehrmann

Thanks, NotACleverName!! I've gotta pull out my earbuds, too! Based on his previous comment, "Ain't that nice?" I think he was mostly referring to Andy. BTW: I love his deliberate use of Ebonics (or Black English) all over the world. You can tell from interviews that, when he chose to, he could speak perfect English, but very often, he sang/spoke in Ebonics. . With regard to Prince's belief or non-belief in Angels, I can't answer that question. At first, I thought it might have something to do with his Jehovah's Witness faith that allegedly made him stop believing in angels, but based on further research, they do seem to believe in angels. So, perhaps that was just a phase P was going through when he reportedly said that he no longer believed in angels. We might never know otherwise. . BTW: What did you think of their cover of the Marvin Gaye classic,"Let's Get It On"?

As FlyOnTheWall pointed already out, your link is the one from Denmark - where she appears more "wild" and loose..... than in Paris, which was the start of the Eurotour and her first time in front of a 50 000 people-crowd! Still, selfconfident as she was, at one point of the concert she's got most of the audience in her hand or voice or whatever and finally even got ME singing:" Don't ever go...."

WOW. Sounds really special, famosA. I'm sure that Prince was beside himself with pride. It was so cute the way he would stand back and watch her performing, as though he were a bit nervous for her. Then, when she would hit those notes and/or licks, this big, loving smile would appear on his face. Very loving... [Edited 12/8/16 18:42pm]

Superconductor's “'The Story of You and I' gives us a snapshot of a conversation between lovers — perhaps one that’s personal enough to make us think that maybe we shouldn’t be intruding on such an intimate moment. The simple guitar drives the narrative of the connection between two people as if their story is a part of an ancient text; that is, something that was either meant to be, or was a narrative of a past life. The visual imagery of the song (for instance, 'you enter me as the sun enters the sea') makes up for the deceptively simple composition of just a girl, barely-there background vocals and a guitar." Andy Allo posted this on Instagram in June related to the "Welcome to Europe" Prince tour. She states: "I didn't sing during 'If I Was Your Girlfriend' so I would come out with a pen and paper and draw Prince as he sat on the piano... my drawings weren't very good but I sure did try. Lol. 🙏#welcome2europe #tbt" Check out the cute photo of Prince & Andy that she posted: https://www.instagram.com...KIfU7nAXQ/

This is a cute photo! Looks like it might have been the same night that Prince was playing in Andy's hair.

"'Breakfast Can Wait' is the sixth track on Prince's 37th album Art Official Age, but it was first available for download 18 months earlier from Prince's 3rdEyeGirl.com website on the day the site opened (along with two versions of Screwdriver and a remix of Rock And Roll Love Affair)." "On August 17, 2013 'Breakfast Can Wait'...was re-released on 3rdEyeTunes.com with artwork showing of comedian Dave Chappelle dressed as Prince and serving pancakes, from a 2004 sketch from an episode of Chappelle's Show.On September 3, 2013, Kobalt released the single with the same artwork on iTunes and Amazon. The following month, a digital maxi-single titled The Breakfast Experience was released, containing new remixes of the track by Joshua Welton. At the time the single was not announced as being connected to any album or larger project, and it is likely that the publicity generated by the track, and more specifically its artwork, led to its inclusion on Art Official Age..While specific recording dates are not known, initial tracking is believed to have taken place in late 2012 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA." Of course, Prince was a Jehovah's Witness, so his return to sexually charged lyrics, after more than a decade's absence, caused quite a stir. Many even believed that, for him to sing such songs, he must have secretly wed Andy Allo. Raising even more eyebrows, AA was, for a time, reportedly wearing a ring on her left ring finger. FlyOnTheWall, I've seen the photo of her wearing a ring on her left finger, but who are the many that believe he secretly wed. I read Andy Allo's letter to Prince on Instagram 4/24/2016, and that letter makes it clear to me that their was some romantic involvement between the two of them. But secretly wed, seriously? . Wasn't this a long time ago? I mean, Prince was with several other women after Andy, right? I know he broke her heart, as he broke so many other's. Personally, I think Prince enjoyed many different types of women because maybe each one gave him something that the one before couldn't. On a personal note, I always wondered why Prince couldn't be with one woman. I just don't know how he did it. Did he ever find true love? Was there ever one woman who could fulfill all his needs & desires? Probably not.
