Hey, joy!! I would never shoot you!! I know my theory is not popular, but this is what I believe, in a nutshell:
I think P and AA were in love...and P led her to expect marriage. I even think the photo below, which she posted along with her tribute to him, might have even been intended for some sort of engagement/marriage announcement (notice the diamond band on her left ring finger). That is reportedly the diamond pinkie ring that P used to wear.
P learned that he was terminally ill.
He, then, backed away from marriage...and Andy backed away from him. And, I don't think anything short of marriage would bring her back: not an acoustic album, not songs on Prince's album (which was previously unheard of), not a European tour. Nothing. For Andy, who couldn't have known about his illness, and who was protecting her heart, which P had already broken, it was "no ring, no'ting." Period. As she said in one of her songs on the Superconductor album, even though her love for him was still strong, she was "Long Gone."

Your theory works for me. There is "something" about this photo that is rather tender and appears to mark an occasion. Though I thought he was the one that was long gone and not looking back since that was his pattern. If it was love, it is my hope that the/their story will be shared out in the open someday.

Miss Andy was riffing and carrying on like Aaron Neville at the end of the haunting "Long Gone."
"The Calm" by Andy Allo (Superconductor album ::: Prince, Executive Producer)
What makes 2 people fall in love and act as tho they dont? What makes one take a leap of faith 2 make sure that they won't? Never speak unkindly words thru countenance of scorn How long? How long? How long do they want the calm to b after the storm? What makes us break each other's heart and act as tho we're friends? A game that ends with us apart, and neither one can win Whatever happened in the past should leave the veil untorn How long? How long? How long do they want the calm to b after the storm? Hold me. Kiss me. Ravage me on moonlit floors Dont scold me. Just miss me, if i am what u love and live 4 What makes 2 people fall in love and start another war? When do we say we've had enough and give up keeping score? There's nothing left 2 heal the burns. It time we all forgive Expecting nothing in return. Just live and let live How long? How long? How long do they want the calm to b after the storm? This is what its like after the storm
Lastly, luxegolightly, there is a reason they call Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other such websites, "social media." It's because it is a form of media. And, these days it can be more reliable than the traditional news media because it is information that people willingly self-broadcast. Don't hate me because I'm pretty good at research. And, more importantly, don't hate Andy because Prince loved her.

until i read the scientist poem i didn't believe they were an item- since then i do. the issue i take with this thread is that u and others are trying to make this 2yrs thing(which is typical of his MO) into a lifetime love affair when there is nothing to suggest that it was. as i said in one of my first posts- u think andy was an exception, i don't. it's both creepy and strange how you have labored to make their thing something it wasn't and seemingly for ur own satifaction. very concerned with the view count i've noticed. and yet u call other people trolls.
--
just like the melodrama of you last sentence(the bolded part) nobody said anything about hate except u. such hyberbole could only come from an overinvested fangurl. and it's that kind of writing that has taken up so much space on this thread NOT pics(which i requested) and lyrics which is what OF4S recommended. ur the one that keeps derailing the thread with ur own assumptions/fantasy of what happened btween these two people.
--
re that scientst poem: u seem to overlook those words which make clear that they were fucking and that he then did his usual and split to find someone else. funny how u skip right over that kinda language from her own mouth! but go on and keep thinking they were still mooning and swooning each other until the end. keep over looking his pattern of behavoir for 30yrs and how his relationship with AA fits into it perfectly. but ur in good company with ur fanfic weirdness. hell, robin is over on another thread saying that prince told her that vanity was not his main girl- susan was. still, there are countless people on this board and others who swear that vanity was his forever love just like u and ur andy bullshit.
---
i would like to repeat my request for more pics and lyrics and ask that u keep ur clap-trap to the minimum!
Interesting because in DMSR what Nilsen wrote was that yes while Prince was involved with Vanity (as well as others), what he had with Susan Moonsie was more of an actual relationship. So I was always intrigued why people felt Vanity was the "love of his life". From what was written he continued to see both of them and it was more Susan who stepped away, quietly and without drama, when he chose to be involved with other women. Anyway in keeping with the topic, I scanned to the end just because I was curious to see if the same 2-3 werre the main contributors to this thread.
Bravo! You nailed on the head of a key point. No going back in time reminiscing of things that were or trying try glamorize things. Denise walked away, obviously hurt but that was that. People, well, normal people move on. There is no need to push and advertise a relationship between the two.
Why not? Because it was obvious in a sense that it was effortless. SNIP - OF4S

This thread is dedicated to the musical collaboration between Prince and Andy Allo, which includes lyrical analysis and, where possible, listening to the actual songs that tell the story of their "Rock and Roll Love Affair." Presently, there are also threads dedicated to "Prince & Sheila E's Romance 1600 1984-1985" and "Prince & Ingrid Chavez ~ 1987-1992," and perhaps others. I don't recall seeing any such vitriol on those threads.
I was told (by a very good source) Prince wanted something serious or a releationship with Andy Allo but she did not have the same type of feelings.
From all that I have seen and read, Andy and Prince were madly in love. Not to mention listening to the lyrics of their songs, which indicate that theirs was an epic love. But, I won't re-hash all that. I don't know if you've read through all the pages of this thread, rapper, but if you have not, I encourage you to do so...and then get back to me (and your very good source).
It's alright if you think otherwise. I heard he had issues with drugs about 5 years back from friends and fans in the know (check my old posts) and no one seemed to like or believe that either.

"What It Feels Like" on Prince's Art Official Age was recorded during the same session(s) for Andy Allo's "When Stars Collide," from her sophomore album, Superconductor. It is yet another sweet love song from that album, for which Prince was the executive producer.

People did not believe it because it is one thing to be on pain managment and another to have a addiction problem for five years and get aroung in the manner that he did. From what we k now he has at least 8 projects completed and never appeared high in public. Not everyone who said he was not on drugs worked for him as he interacted with people in Channahassen on a daily basis.
I firmly believe he was under pain management after his surgery but I believe he had other issues as well. The issue with Andy was discussed on this board as well and seems belivable he was much older then her and that could have been a problem.

Thanks, laurarichardson. I agree, especially about the question of Prince and drugs. I just find it so hard to believe that he was a long-time drug abuser, yet still able to consistently produce at such a high level for his entire professional life.
Hopefully, Andy will perform a song she collaborated with Prince on during tonight's Music Monday. She often does.
Tonight, she did a nice medley of songs. The first song was the beautiful "Dreamland" from her UnFresh album. From there she went seamlessly into "Nothing More," off Superconductor, which was, of course, executive produced by Prince. She ended with a really emotional new song from her new album. Its rawness caught me off guard, especially the part where she wonders if she will be alright...or make it through tonight. It is presently untitled, but she might call it Father/Mother or Back 2 One.
..
Here are some of the most memorable lyrics of her new song (some of which might not be exact because it's virtually impossible to rewind Facebook live feeds).
The night is cold and I don't know how I ended up here all alone.
The night is young and all I want is to get back to one
Cardboard boxes hold everything I own
It's become vital to my existence to hold onto things with sentimental value
If there's a fire, I guess I'll run and watch everything burn
"Yellow Gold" is a funky crowd favorite from Andy Allo's Superconductor album.
Yellow Gold
[Chorus] Wish I had some yellow gold Heard that it"s your kryptonite Wish I had some yellow gold So you wouldn"t put up a fight I just wanna love you right Even if it"s just one night
. Always seem to like what I can"t have I"m the girl that's always picked last But now I know what I want when I want it so Nothing"s gonna stop me now And here I am the same situation Forever parked in a lonely station I want a person but the person is taken And I just want this cycle to end
. [Chorus] Wish I had some yellow gold Heard that it"s your kryptonite Wish I had some yellow gold So you wouldn"t put up a fight I just wanna love you right Even if it"s just one night . I like a latte on a cold day Goes down smooth, warms my body Yeah I got the moves, I can make em swoon I just need to chance to We all have fences around our hearts You got thorns, alarms and guns I"m throwing rocks and pebbles at your window So when you"re gonna let me in
. [Chorus] x 3 Wish I had some yellow gold Heard that it"s your kryptonite Wish I had some yellow gold So you wouldn"t put up a fight I just wanna love you right Even if it"s just one night.

From there she went seamlessly into "Nothing More," off Superconductor, which was, of course, executive produced by Prince. She ended with a verse or two of a really gut-wrenching, unfinished new song from her forthcoming album. The raw emotion expressed caught me off guard, especially the part where she wonders if she will be alright...or make it through the night. It is presently untitled, but she says she might call it "Father/Mother" or "Back 2 One."

On October 18, 2012, Andy uploaded a rehearsal/jam of "Dark," from his 1998 (20th) studio album Crystal Ball onto her Facebook. I'm not sure of the initial placement of this acknowledgement, but judging from this photo, Prince was very appreciative. The impromptu release had Orgers swooning, including KCOOLMUSIQ, who had this to say: "I think Andy should be given credit for him bringing out these rare trax. She is really inspiring him."Remember, KCOOLMUSIQ was believed by many Orgers to speak for Prince (or to be Prince). Whatever the case, K had a LOT to say on this thread from the archives, "Andy Allo just uploaded a new jam/rendition of 'Dark' on FB."
Take it to the KCOOL appreciation thread. It should be in related artists somewhere.
Thank you, jaawwnn! I'll have to check out that thread; however, this particular photo and backstory are part of the history of the Prince/Andy Allo collaboration.
