Yep she was angry and didn't hold back lol. Andy didn't sit around though and hired her own band and headed to Europe for her summer Superconductor tour. I think she may have been too independent for him.She never sits in one place for long.

,Andy said they wrote and recorded a lot of material.She also said recently during a Music Monday one of their favorite things to do together was to sit around and jam on their guitars.She said it was her favorite memory of when they were together.I think he did some of his best work of the decade with her honestly.I'd like to hear 1000 Light Years in it's entirety.

Nah,I think I know what happened but I'm not gonna post it here. I'll just say that Andy seemed to feel betrayed and angry at the time. She posted some interesting poetry and seemed to want people to know that something had happened between them.

Prince and Andy also had tongues wagging around Sacramento, her hometown, when he was seen about town quite a bit at one time.

Yep I remember. It was after they got back from the Welcome 2 Australia tour. There were also rumors Prince was staying at Andy's house in Sacramento.I found some fun interviews on Dr Funkenberry.com from that time.Andy was very silly and in a great mood in them. In one of them the DJ referred to her as P's girlfriend and she said "slow ur roll". She was pretty coy at that time and focused on the album mainly. The DJ was flirting with her and then he said he wasn't gonna be coming around the house stalking her,he didn't want to "get beat up by Prince" lol Andy then said "Thank you". The interview is still up under the tag Andy Allo. It was very entertaining

But Prince was throwing tons of parties at his 3121 mansion in Beverly Hills while still married to Mani.Perhaps she was more low-key and didn't like the Hollywood glamour lifestyle and that was one of the reasons they drifted apart.

I liked Prince and Mani while they were together too. Prince seemed really happy until about summer 2004 then he started kind of pulling away from the marriage.I also remember rumors that were circulating by 2005 that they had seperated and Prince splitting his time between L.A. and Panama.

You will find that I have posted on many, many topics besides Andy Allo; however, I admit, that after listening to Art Official Age, which I had on repeat for awhile, I became fascinated with and curious about Andy's and Prince's relationship.

I gather that they wanted someone close to him to have the honor. I know she's very close to Maceo so he may have requested that she give the speech. Andy also is pretty close to Adrian so it could have been him that recommended her. Like I said Andy is still very close to a lot of the NPG and Hannah and Ida as well.

You're welcome. I saw footage of her speech up close and it looked like she had tears streaming down her cheeks. Dr Funkenberry is friends with her and he certainly acts as though she was very special to Prince and close to him.He also said he invited her on the podcast when she was ready but that she didn't have to talk about him if she didn't want to.

I remember reading the poetry...I think one was called "The Sculptor and Scientist" or something...really interesting...seemed to imply that he lost interest/moved on to 3rdeyegirl and then came back around and wanted to initiate something. She also posted one where she discussed a proposal and mentioned green/hazel eyes....assumed it was about him. I was at the Hotel Cafe in 2013, when P walked in from the side...she looked surprised and really taken aback. I think he was trying to get back with her and I think she was coming back around bc of the AOA songs, giving her props, showing up at her shows etc. Also, it's interesting that a lot of the later women had fros...I don't think it's just happenstance.

I agree.I also think singing some of their songs for Music Monday is another way she is paying her respects to him. As well as sharing little stories about him with their fans. I'm sure returning to MPLS will be tough and she may not want to go back to PP. It might be hard enough to be in the Dakota since they spent a lot of time there together.

Yes I remember The Sculptor and Scientist. She wrote another called Give and take I believe...thanks for posting the link to the tumblr-I'll check that out.I'd forgotten the one about the proposal and hazel eyes. Did Andy see P come in the door? Funkenberry made it seem like she didn't see him until after her show. I think Prince was trying to get back with her then too and it seemed to work since Andy was at his L.A. show and sitting with him in VIP at Liv's show in March 2014. It is interesting how many of the recent women had fro's and they resembled Andy too.
