These were taken at the Sziget Festival in Hungary, August 8, 2011, in front of a crowd of an estimated 60.000 people. This was Prince's one and only Hungarian performance.
I saw a good interview with Andy from last year with T.I.R.M. It was done when she was in NYC for the release of Hello. She talks a bit about Superconductor and her musical influences.
Good interview, in spite of the poor sound quality.
Andy is interviewed while in Chicago to open for Prince at The House of Blues, in September 2012. She sings "People Pleaser," promoting her newly released Superconductor album. She is backed by the NPG horns and John Blackwell. When asked to describe working with Prince, she said it was "priceless" and "challenging."

Thanks for posting! Saw another with Arise 360-she discussed working with Prince and what it was like to tour the world with him.
Here's an interview with the CEO of the Africa Channel. He talks about his time touring with Prince for Welcome 2 America and the night he introduced Prince to Andy at an afterparty at his BelAir mansion.

I loved this!! I'm still trying to imagine "Prince with his sleeves rolled up and washing dishes in the kitchen as his first guests arrived" to the party at his Bel Air mansion on that fateful night that he first met (and jammed with) Andy.

He looked so happy that summer.
He did. I believe this is the day that Prince took that iconic photo of the New Power Generation, with his reflection showing in the mirror.

Me too! lol. I came across it looking for Andy's Africa Channel special. Prince wanting Andy to have her own TV show was also news to me.

Yes, that was news, indeed. BTW, thank you for sharing the article. It was a great find!
More to the point, is that a Swarovksi Couture necklace P is wearing? I've long admired it!
LOL. You've got me on that one, Dibblekins!! I haven't a clue, but P did have exquisite taste.
I like to think that, eventually, all of P's clothes and accessories will be properly curated and put in a revolving / travelling exhibition, and possibly detailed in an accompanying coffee-table volume...Bliss!

I think Prince's heart was broken because he had pushed Andy away, I believe, when his health crisis emerged, unbeknownst to her. I think he figured that he could still see her, but Andy, apparently, wasn't having it. I also think he had led her to expect marriage, with every intention of going back to the altar, but everything changed with the health news. All Andy knew was that he was pushing her away. So, they were both miserable; and he was doing everything he could to return to her good graces--except giving her what she wanted: marriage. I think Andy was like, no ring, no'ting. Sadly, they spent his last days mostly apart.

Your post is hard to follow. In other words, you contradict yourself. You say he pushed her away but then you say he wants in. What exactly is your train of thought here? Do you have a point to make? If so, can you clarify?
I can't make it any clearer, anangellooksdown. If time allows, read through the thread again. All I can say is that Andy probably felt this same confusion.
Yes, that's what I got from your post. Thanks for clarifying 🙂

You're welcome! I loved it too...he gave good insight into Prince's character.
I thought so, too, especially when I read, not for the first time, about his insistence that the tickets for his 21-concert residency at the Forum in LA cost no more than $25 so that his fams of all income levels could afford to attend. Prince was one of the good guys...not perfect, but definitely good.

That was very generous of him. I remember he first announced the tour on the George Lopez show in April 2011. He had a big heart.

You're very welcome. I think this was a time of great confusion for Prince, as well. I get the feeling that this was one of the few times since he was a 17-year prodigy--naming his own terms with record label executives, and setting off a bidding war--that he was not in control, not of his health...or Andy.

Other women broke it off with him too. Many of them. And he broke it off with many of them. I looked at his twitter over the last year and he only mentions Andy once or twice. But he mentioned Judith Hill numerous times, and other female artists as well. I always saw him as not being with Andy for the last few years. In fact I believe there was someone else he was digging strongly in 2014.

Most of his tweets about Andy were deleted. All that's left is the one with the Corgi dog in the snow and his congratulations for her Independence Excellence Award. I agree that they weren't together much in the last few years. I think the last time Prince saw her was at her show at the Bootleg Theater last September. I could be wrong though and they may have met up privately for all I know. Andy's reaction to his passing seemed awfully fresh though not like they hadn't spoken for awhile. She seemed broken.

Indeed, she did/does seem broken. Also, did you notice how Maceo Parker and the NPG Horns treated Andy at the Apollo Walk of Fame dedication for Prince? I can't put my finger on it, but you can tell that they knew she was special. Not to mention, the Apollo officials. I even wonder how she came to be invited to speak on Prince's behalf.

I did notice that! Maceo held her close for a few seconds. Yes,I agree they did treat her as though she was special. I've noticed quite a few of his associates love Andy. Maceo,Adrian,Hannah,Shelby,Ana Moura,Justine Walpole,Dr.Funkenberry Van Jones and Ida all have shown their love to Andy since April.
