Where did you purchase it from for that price? Lol. Where I live it was sold out of fast.. Or maybe they didn't have much in stock in the first place.

I bought mine on Wednesday nite and it took them 30 minutes to find it. They kept telling us it wasn't available for sale till Friday. But me and another Prince Fam were like no, he wanted Tuesday releases and it was released yesterday.

The album was a clusterfuck right from the get go.

TMBGITW - announced but bot included.

Moonbeam Levels - but not as a single, so fans are forced to buy the album.

Fans didn't want a hits set, the general public didn't need a hits set, and Prince sold a million hits sets just 7 months ago.

Who was this supposed to be for?

The worst part: 4EVER was the first release following his passing. It should have sold a million by default. Now that it hasn't, I suspect they're going to be much more cautious with future releases, which probably isn't good news for fans.

It's available as a single on iTunes.

^ I stand corrected. I seem to recall people saying you couldn't buy it as a stand alone track. But you're right it's there.

Even so, it's not a proper single... giving the album something to ride on.

I think they failed with distribution. I went to several stores and it was out in most.

Full sales total will be posted on Friday...

That other thread how it debuted at #80 was only 3 days sales calculations.

Only in US he sold more than 900k with these 3 albums, 4Ever is his 4th greatest hits album, it's no surprise it's not selling like a new release.

I agree, a lyric video (like they did for Funk&Roll) would work for Moonbeam levels

I bought it twice First on Amazon pre-order as I wasn't sure it would be avail here. But walked into the store last week and there was a display right when you walk in So, I bought another one. I know people are squawking that its another 'hits CD' but I like it.

A display for this album, What a novel concept . Where did you find a display? Most of us can't even find the CD in the store. Great that your supporting P!

The album is not doing well overall, but considering the poor tracklist (always the same songs, only one unreleased track...) just imagine how well it would have done if it was done properly : one unreleased track by disc, post-warner hits ( TMBGITW, GOLD, HOLY RIVER, MUSICOLOGY, BLACKSWEAT...).

WB lost his money on this, this failure was highly predictable. I hope these people who conceived this will be fired.

It WAS promoted though, here in the UK. I saw more TV ads for Prince 4ever than I have for any Prince release in recent memory.

HMV of all places - they had it directly when you walked in, couldn't miss it I did a double take and then stood the marvelling because I couldn't believe they had it out there like that BUT that location has almost steadily has had SOMETHING of Prince displayed - the previous recent HITs CD, then HIT & RUN 1 & 2 were there recently. The new Purple Rain LP - I snagged one of them too And now this one

The real problem now is you can see the family and trust still has not acquired any streaming rights...
