Best concert to show fiance

Hey all,

I'm planning to show my fiance another P concert. He has seen the SOTT concert movie (and I think he enjoyed that) but nothing truly live yet. I was thinking about showing him either the Capitol Theatre one on YT or the 1988 Dortmund Lovesexy concert. He appreciates Prince (though not as much as me obviously) and seems to like more of his rock flavored music than his funk. What do you all think would be the best one that I show him next?

Admission is easy, just say you believe and come to this place in your heart... <3

Captol Theatre show is a good one or the "For those who are on Valium" show that P did as a warm up for SOTT if its still around

Well...I think it all depends on whether you are just trying to share your love for Prince with the person you've chosen to love. OR you're just trying to make the person you've chosen to love share your love for Prince. There is a hell of a difference in that...make absolutely no mistake about it! hammer

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

The Lovesexy tour is awesome.

Your fiancé will probably love the amazing performance of "The Cross" in that concert.

This would be my choice, as well. It's the show on which Purple Rain was based - can't really be beat for a "where it began" selection.

If you have it, Montreux 2009. Lots of "rock" to appeal to his sensibilities.

This may not be in the right forum and I don't know if it's allowed; but where exactly would the OP get the videos you all are referencing? Are all of them up on You-Tube?

I really am interested in seeing the May 28, 2006 concert at The Empire Ballroom in Las Vegas. Any suggestions?

I'm still somewhat new here, so like I said, not sure if that question is permitted. Sorry if it's not.

I'd suggest Lovesexy Dortmund: not only one of his best gigs but also to show his showmanship on guitar because you stated that your fiance likes more of his rockside (i.e. Purple Rain, Let's Go Crazy, The Cross, Delirious, Sister).

I would probably show
-Montreux 2009
-Montreux 2013 (with 3rdeyegirl).

The first is up on YT, the other one I have not seen in full, only 3
separate tracks.
Enjoy!

I was at that show. If a recording exists, I am not aware of it.

Yep, for the casual fan, or as an intro, this is the one that they will be able to feel an emotional attachment to. Three is no way watching Purple Rain emergine in fromt of him/her thet they won't get goosebumps smile

How can I get ahold of the First Ave 1983 show though, or many of the others for that matter? I looked up most on youtube and didn't have much luck aside from Dortmund and Capitol.

Thank you all for your advice! worship
