There.Simply.Is.Too.Much.Music.To.Release.In.Our.Lifetimes!

Expecially at the slow pace of legacy record companies.

Please do get your head around that.

Oh I know.

But if they were REALLY concerned with making money.....

It kind of reminds me of what the late great Orson Welles once said about studio heads.

He pretty much said that they aren't really interested in making money. If they were they wouldn't be in the movie business because it's way too unpredictable. He said all they were interested in was the power to say "no".

Same thing here.

They'll butcher every opportunity to release anything resembling a common sense choice. If they were really invested they'd get people who really "got" Prince. Or hire me. Lock me in the vault for a year and I'd come up with solid packages, I gaurantee it!

Releasing his final show seems like a no-brainer to me.

Then they should simply release unedited soundboards of each tour. (regular shows and aftergigs, soundchecks etc)

One tour per year.

And do this in parallel with the outtakes, alternates, etc in the vault.

.

But that is to big and simple for them to fathom.

I love it..thanks for sharing. I doubt they are going to release that many shows though. It will be like it has always been and we will have to depend on the "bootleggers". But this one sounds great and I wonder if the entire show is out there in this quality.

Why?

They'll sell '4ever' at approximately €10,- per disc.

A simple concert could thus cost €20 or less -less than admission- and since more recent tours are not that long...

We must also not forget the discount when buying the whole tour. Prices could drop.

Yes they do exist.

But who would think of delivering that type of product with a tour on them?

Prices per disc dive towards roughly €5 or lower. Let's start with the Nude tour.

Quite a number of shows, 60+?

That could be done sub €600 for all of them shows.

Is this the tour with most shows?

Have you even checked the links I provided? One of them is a 36 disc box set of Dylan live recordings. Total cost: about $100/€100.

I think we need a "wishlist" sticky, there's no need for so many "request" threads.

Off the top of my head, Purple Rain and Musicology had many more shows.

Hmm OK..

But it doesn't really matter.

If the Vault is really aan uncatalogued mess then they shoud simply release shows as they find them.

Have fans subscribe to them for a very reasonable price to release them as they come up.

Full, unedited, un-dubbed soundboard shows.

I'd want them all.

Release them all. He didn't do the same set list at every show.

Best word to describe it.

I love all the Piano & Mic recordings, I really hope one gets an official release. There's talk of HD footage being shown on the PP tours from 21st Jan so a DVD would be even better..

Awesome and beautiful, very pure but made me really sad as I was sooooo looking forward to Piano & Mic tour coming to the UK (another, admittedly minor in comparison, reason to hate those terrorists in France for making Prince cancel his UK shows).
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.
