SOTT. As far as the cover I most prefer, anyway. Lovesexy/Parade/ATWIAD for the covers that best fit the mood of their respective albums (though SOTT does that darn well, too). A few: ATWIAD - the stories of every song are in the characters; the forest inside is beautiful and reminds me of upstate NY in the fall (especially love the single to "Paisley Park" - paisley orgasm) * SOTT - it's dark, blurry, looks like a shot from a left over gig The Beautiful Experience - I love the neo-tech look of it The Hits/The B-Sides - I love those shots of him in the "7" outfit, black & white with a hint of sepia, so classic (I was a big fan of a typhoon as well)
For You - boring D&P - the hologram didn't cut it for me; seems like a test shot Musicology - what, Prince in a pensive pose? Original. (NOT) 3121 - just seems tame compared to the beautiful shots inside "  don’t really care so much what people say about me because it is a reflection of who they r." |

so many great ones through the years... favorites have to be Purple Rain (just for the nostagia factor alone... I had the album cover, and the poster, on my wall for years back in the day!), Parade (love the intense look), sign (so much going on and reminds me of the amazing movie), and I even like AOA as of late... (I also like the Lovesexy cover... funny looking back...I had to hide it from my grandparents, who drove me to the record store to get it, when I bought it!). I am also a huge fan of the Lets Pretend Were Married 12" cover! |

1. ATWIAD - Because it's soo much to it. It really feels, at least in my opinion, that were gonna take a trip around the world. I just love looking at the cover. 2. 1999 - Seeing it in the vinyl cover has really have me more of a appreciation of it and has realized how cool it really is. There's so much stuff that I've never noticed and still prolly havent to this day. I feel some kind of love 4 U

Parade. No contest. (with TRC #2-best art.) Interesting how the image was used so much in tribute magazines & book covers since his death. It's become an Iconic image. | |

I'm also going to go for Parade. The design is so simple yet striking. I loved the way his body connected when you opened out the gatefold sleeve. It's also interesting how the 'R' of 'Revolution' gets cut making it read as 'Evolution'. I have a soft spot for all the eighties sleeves, but Parade is an absolute classic. | |
