Yes this was back in 2002 when the new Org format was rolled out. Good times.

One does not have to be "dumb" or inarticulate to be mentally distrubed.
An ongoing negative obsession is a mental distrubance.

"A second album of previously unreleased material" (that's the exact quote) pretty much says what it says, and that's all we have for now. "Unreleased" means unreleased = bootlegged maybe, but not officially released, and that excludes singles' b-sides and extended mixes, since they were official released. "Of" doesn't mean "including" nor "with", it means "of", i.e. only unreleased music. So we have every right to expect a full length album of unreleased music, because that's what they've announced word for word. If they are to rerelease the PR b-sides, edits and extended versions too, it can't possibly be on that specific record. [Edited 10/29/16 6:53am] Hey it's all good and as I said I hope you are right as the more we get the better. But gotta say I think you are being A) too literal and B) too trusting of a press release. The same press release mentioned TMBGITW and yet that is not on the 4Ever track-listing! I would be willing to lay money (maybe not too much lol) that my prediction is right. Fancy a bet? 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

IDK and to be honest I don't really care, I have enough Prince music to last me till I die. I'm just saying this has been announced and it is not subject to interpretation. If it's something else then God bless WB because they will have announced something then released something else, so they gonna have a hell of a shitstorm to deal with A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

. And had a lot of help and a very supportive record company. .
. Yes, let's ignore that several times Prince was flirting with bankruptcy back when he was actually selling a fuckload of records. Note that you failed to READ WHAT I ACTUALLY WROTE, by the way. .
. Yeah, let's ignore that prince fired his road crew during the "Gold Tour" and demanded his manager hire a local crew on each date, which the manager solved by keeping the road crew employed and having them wear fake beards etc. Or that he didn't pay his bills and caused dozens of struggling businesses and several bankruptcies. Or hired a ditzy chick to host the online promo special for AOA. Real professional. And that's justa small list of examples. .
. No he wasn't. He got extremely lucky a couple of times, but at the end he was selling mere thousands of copies. .
. Except Prince didn't have $250 million when he died. Sure, there's an estimate that his estate could be worth that, but the actual worth right here right now? Nowhere near that. . Note that plenty of people in his entourage have stated frustration about Prince abandoning projects at the drop of a hat. For fucks sake, you make Eminem's Stan and Mark Chapman look sane. . You've been on here for about 20 years with your personal vendetta and even carry it on when he's dead. Very weird and sad really [Edited 10/29/16 16:02pm]

Ultimately I like Prince for his music, not for his business savvy. All his business decisions made sense within the confines of his viewpoint of art before business and you're wrong if you think he put business first. [Edited 10/29/16 16:25pm]

There will be more unreleased songs on future releases. This is only something less than a year after his death. You guys want 100 unreleased vault material so soon. That is ridiculous and is not going to happen. There are decades left yet to release his catalogue.

Never said that. But 1 song only is such a tease, maybe 3-5 songs on this compilation would be reasonable.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I noticed that the compilation only contains songs up to 1993.......I was hoping they would have included songs like I Hate U, Musicology, Black Sweat etc too, or do they have to get permission from the other labels he signed to to include them? Maybe they will do a second one containing his recent material Keep Calm & Listen To Prince

with 1000 songs in the vault they can release a best of every year with one new song for 1000 years

Calling Prince out on everything shows that you have a personal vendetta.
Many people who "called" Prince out were acting like he wronged them personally. A CD that was ordered and not delivered is not an act of Prince Rogers Nelson but his shipping department. Yet people came here and thought that Prince was fucking with them by not sending what they ordered. I talked with a person who worked for the NPGMC and one of the biggest problems they had was people giving the wrong mailing address. Then they would complain when it was shipped to the wrong house. There was also a problem with things being shipped overseas.
I can understand the anger at the company but to carry it on to be against everything he did afterward is beyond comprehension. [Edited 10/30/16 6:27am]

this BVH clearly feels that to show any emotion / saddness with us at the passing of Prince is a weakness. He continues to project his opinions in death as he did when p was alive...this gives him the feeling of superiority & shows , on the fac eof it a total lack of empathy. It also gives him a platform to set himself up as the voice of knowledge in the community therefore giving him a reason to stick around. It's a classic case. His opinions [IMHO] are worthless & frankly desperate...a LOT is based on his opinion & not hard fact. Personally the opinions & expereinces of world class musicians/musical legends, people in all areas of the arts, artists young & old, people who have benefitted from his charities & hard core business people amongst others are the opinions I read & above all respect. They were there!

& yet Ben & co still give him a platform. Screw free speech & principles...i'd ban him asap. Our Prince has died & he continues to disrespect..beggards belief & is beyond contempt.

I don't want him banned.
I actually like Bart and will occasionally agree with him sometimes. [Edited 10/30/16 9:07am] [Edited 10/30/16 10:14am]

anyway...back on topic! The album seems to have been planned well in advance with Warners, P was also playing Moonbeam Levels live [he wlays road tested stuff wayyy in advance!]. I am surprised at some of the songs though given his feelings on the ruder lyrics?
Really hoping these are remastered versions, overall the compilation does differ [slightly!] from the others out there. Be warned though..expect loads more of these over the years...look at Elvis & Bowie...sooo many GT compilations out there.
As for Purple Rain Disc 2...i think we are all intrigued.

And the thing is, this "knowledge" that he has about Prince are things that we ALL know. Well, most of us. We just ont continually pound people over the head with it for decades. To do so, as well as eliminating the positive, is NOT normal.
I think he got touched that his past website back then never warranted on Prince's radar to send a C&D to lol.

Thats all because AMP became a cesspool of defunctness so he had no place left to go but here. Same as many other ampers who once clowned prince.org. every chance they got.

under normal circumstances we would ALL agree with you...but Prince has died..in pain..& alone. What you call 'sycophantic bullshit' is actually a combination of utter heartache, love, respect, appreciation & disbelief that we lost him in such horrible circumstances. I've said it many, many times but the thought that he battled through years of pain yet continued to work relentlessly producing albums & touring constantly as well as supporting artists & charities is beyond heart breaking. So, forgive us for coming out with 'sycophantic bullshit'.... i prefer to call it love.
