But, yeah, we would have our own celebration of his life and music "down in the quarter"

They were just regular white doves I believe, the issue was that PETA thought the doves would get lost, and would not be able to "find their way home", therefore not be able to fend for themselves and either die off or become a nuisance to the city (Hello?! that's why they're called "homing doves"...they "find their way home"!)...and besides, if you've ever been to NOLA, it's FULL of pigeons (a species of dove)
