Minneapolis Newspapers and Prince Does anyone think that the local print media in Minneapolis is being really negative with their Prince related coverage? I know he was not everyone's cut of tea but they appear to go out of their way to be negative.

No matter what..
I always feel that there are not ENOUGH words or honorifics
Surely he IS all that one would Expect a Prince To be.
Perfectly Flawed...
His energy is ,creating an upward shift in Cultural Values
and its a uniting force.
Sing Dance Laugh Love Cry
~Together~
So potent his LOVE, we can still FEEL it..

When you say local print media you're basically talking about Jon Bream at the Star Tribune. I don't think he and Prince were ever best buds but I do think there was a level of respect between both. Paisley Park is in your heart

-- It is not just this article all of the print media out of the local Minneapolis has put a negative spin on everything the local T.V stations stories are better. The fact that the Star Tribune actually went to court to open his divorce docs tells you everything about what sort of narrative they want to spin.

Do you think someone over there had so much beef with Prince that they are carrying on with it now that he is dead. I mean when do you let it go? The review in the Pioneer Press is awful and not the first bad thing I have read in that paper.

I don't follow the media, so I really can't comment on whether I think you're right or not, but perhaps they are actually being protective of Prince by reporting on the sloppy way it appears things have been handled since his death.

Was it a Pioneer Press review of the tribute show? I read Jon Bream's review. It wasn't very positive but it wasn't anti-Prince it was basically nobody can put on a show and fill a room like Prince did. He's right about that. Paisley Park is in your heart

"Prince had many talents, but planning live performances wasn’t one of his strengths."
He played concerts all over the world what the f&$! is even babbling about?

He played concerts all over the world what the f&$! is even babbling about? Yeah I don't get that. Unless they were referring to the last minute nature of some things he did. Some of that though I think was to try and combat scalpers. Tickets for this tribute show unfortunately were on stubhub the minute they went on sale. Paisley Park is in your heart

That is exactly why he did shows in his later years at the last minute. This guy is some young punk who knows nothing and is in Minneapolis were all of the info about P is avalible.

I interpreted the ST article on the tribute concert set-up to mean that this size of show takes a great deal more work than a "regular" person would know about. It is a multi-million dollar effort which has to be arranged by individuals who do this for a living. Overall, the ST seems to have had a less than favorable eye on Prince.

Mayer and Aguilera had no real connection to Prince. I think Christina had been to some of his LA house parties but did they ever actually work together. I'd much rather listen to people who worked with him and performed with him on stage than well known names that don't have a deeper personal connection to him. It's sad that Stevie and Chaka get dismissed. If Stevie and John Mayer both passed away tomorrow I know who would get more media coverage. Paisley Park is in your heart

http://www.startribune.com/how-thursday-s-prince-tribute-was-saved-concert-promoter-put-humpty-dumpty-back-together-again/396866631/ At least there's some reasons why. Which is why I hate all that hype and criptic mess. It always turns out things are a bigger undertaking than expected, and then all the hype crumbles. I'm happy somebody stepped in and was willing to put in the extra effort to give fans a memorable moment. But from here on out you can't bank on others to keep putting themselves out like that.

Looks like I'll have to start delving into some of these "papers" seems they have info on a lot of missing pieces to this puzzle. Because I have no desire to be blindsided.

I didn't see any reporting of the Tribute Concert on any major local or national TV this morning. i was shocked. Are people asleep? Speaking of the Star Tribune, what's going on with the divorce papers? Isn't there a date soon when the files could be opened?

I wondered about this too..
Horrible to think but....Could it be becasue he wasnt attached to any Major Label ?,
No one is going to make any money from Album Sales , which would increase with International Coverage.
We Saw MjS Tribute covered on ever Television STation here for Days...

Hello?
This is a filthy, pay-to-play, Hillary-sh**bag world we live in, so with "the press" you may either stroke them financially for results or not.
I like this Levy quote, b/c its, ya know, HONEST, like Prince. Best tribute ever.
