fishing pole, there are 60 minutes in an hour and not 100, and poor Marianne left the last page, the one with his signature, in the damn photocopier.

those three things stand out for me.

A pre-release 12-inch single of “Little Red Corvette” given to Vanity by Prince.

The album contains multiple versions of the song’s dance remix. The typed white label, with one handwritten correction, reads “Prince/ Warner Brothers/ January 14, 1982/ 45 RPM/ Stereo/ Little Red Corvette.” The white album sleeve has been decorated with marker, possibly by Prince or Vanity, and reads “Prince/ Little Red Corvette/ (dance re-mix).” (tumblr)

I thought they met at the AMAs on Jaunary 25, 1982 but this pre-dates that?

In Denise Matthews obituary it mentions the year they met. This was big news to me as I also thought it was January 25th 1982. Also in an interview she did say they were together for two and a half years and Vanity left the Prince camp August of 83. Here is the link to the obituary:

Must be a typo for 1983, the dance remix came out then. LRC wasn't even recorded until August 1982, I doubt it was written in January 1982, nevermind remixed!

No typo, Vanity left the Prince camp August of 1983. During the pre- production of Purple Rain. They met in 1980 as per her obituary. http://i68.tinypic.com/29y1bu0.jpg. She said she was with him for two and a half years, so that sounds about right.

I think you're right, princevault also says that the initial tracking for LRC took place at Prince's Kiowa Trail Home Studio, Chanhassen, MN, USA, on 7 August 1982, so yes, typo it must be.

A typo where? Do you mean in my post that I said they split up in 1983 or are you talking about the recording or something else? Sorry kind of slow to catch on with what u guys are talking about, lol.

This is what I was referring to (and jaawwnn too, I think) - Misslink88 started raising a doubt about this pre-release year, see her reply #28.

The same year appears on the auction website...

"A pre-release 12-inch acetate of “Little Red Corvette” given to Vanity by Prince. Side 1 contains a full version of the track running approximately 8 munutes and 30 seconds. Side 2 contains a truncated cersion of the same track that cuts off at approximately 5 minutes and 18 seconds. The typed white label, with one handwritten correction, reads “Prince/ Warner Brothers/ January 14, 1982/ 45 RPM/ Stereo/ Little Red Corvette.” The white album sleeve has been decorated with marker, possibly by Prince or Vanity, and reads “Prince/ Little Red Corvette/ (dance re-mix).” This song appears on Prince’s October 1982 release 1999 and was released as a single in February 1983.

12 1/2 by 12 1/2 inches"

http://www.julienslive.co...losed%3Dno

...And on the vinyl too (where another typo has been corrected).

PRN Productions, Inc., rehearsal memo, dated January 3, 1986, sent from PRN general manager Krattinger to eleven members of The New Revolution. The memo alerts that rehearsals begin on Monday February 3, 1986, and continue through Friday with double sessions each day lasting from noon to 6 pm. Krattinger adds the 26-song set list below, noting that “All songs should be choreographed and arranged (not ballads).” Song titles include: ‘Raspberry Beret,’ ‘Purple Rain,’ ‘Kiss,’ ‘Soft and Wet,’ and ‘Mountains.’ Prince is listed in the carbon copy line at the bottom. Coinciding with the release of Parade and the film Under the Cherry Moon, this rehearsal set list was doubtlessly used for Prince and The Revolution’s 1986 Parade Tour, which commenced on March 3, giving the supporting performers one month to learn the songs. A typical day at Paisley Park according to Karen Krattinger (Prince’s former personal assistant)

“I was a workaholic and I had no life. I think Prince appreciated that and liked that, and in a way I always described myself at the time that I was one of his women.

I had to check on new printers, check on license for the limousine, reimburse Earl for curlers, get a pool table with red felt for his dad. I need to have Mr. Nelson’s piano overhauled and painted. Prince wanted a 1985 GMC, I had to look into that… Interview a new housekeeper, check the office supplies at his house, (?) Susannah about washer repair (washing machine), schedule the garbage situation- the pick up at his house, check on the Mazarati rehersal schedules, America videos for Revolution. I had to call somebody at the management office and get something, put in the phone at the new gate house at the security guard gate at his home, get someone a gold and platinum record, call Bernadette Anderson who is Andre’s mom, Prince’s other mom… Then I had to talk to Prince about NAACP awards… That was one day and that was probably just part of it.

Then there were the parties that Prince wanted to have but they were very, very expensive. He deserved to spend his money but a lot of people were spending his money that shouldn’t been spending.” tumblr 10/20/2016

Does anybody know what age Prince was when he wrote that 'budget list'? I love to see how his mind works and even though he didn't have much left over from paying bills, i loved that he always put the remaining away for 'the house or duplex'. So cool. Thanks for posting.

Original “Purple Rain” Film Used Clapperboard

The original Clapperboard used during the filming of Prince’s 1984 classic Purple Rain. This was given by the late Purple Rain cinematographer Don Thorin to a close friend, from whom we obtained it. Thorin was a well known director of photography who also shot An Officer and a Gentleman, Against All Odds, Scent of a Woman and Shaft.

Dolores Karan Purple Rain Pay Stub

$28.21 to be an extra in Purple Rain!

“I was picked as an extra in the movie “Purple Rain.” You had to have a “special look,” and I hung out at First Ave. a lot. I skipped class and called in sick at work to do this. We were told not to wear coats or boots to First Ave. because there would not be any place to store them. But, my friend and I took the bus there so we needed to wear a coat. My friend wore her $300 coat and it got stolen! She fussed, so we got invited to the “After Party” at 7th Street Entry. That is where we got to meet Prince!“
