EXCLUSIVE: Prince's Siste...Two Years'

Prince's tragic death shocked the world earlier this year, but the musician's sister, Tyka Nelson, told ET she expected it.

"It wasn't hard at all," Nelson said about coming to grips with Prince's death. "It was a two-word phone call: 'He's gone.' And I knew who he meant. I hung up the phone. An employee of Prince called. I have been preparing for two years, so I knew that it was coming."

Five months after Prince's death, ET gained access to the music icon's Paisley Park compound in Minnesota, where we caught up with Nelson before the property opens its doors to the public as a museum.

According to Nelson, Prince hinted to her that his life was winding down.

"He said it a couple of years ago: 'I've done everything that I've come to do,'" she recalled. "I was crushed for about two years." Read More...

I reported a few months back that I had heard from a reliable source that he was diagnosed with cancer in 2014.

Me, too. She revealed it in such a matter-of-fact way. That really threw me.

Confusing. In the one interview with Al she expressed she was in shock at first, now in this interview she's expressing she knew it was coming.

Arrrrgggghhh! IF there is a legal witnessed will (attorney) it is a matter of public record and legally MUST be revealed. IF it is a holographic will (handwritten or video) it is not recognized in the state if Minnesota. This is not a TV show.

Why yall think Prince did not know exactly what he was doing anyway? SMH

My source said the same thing that Prince knew he was dying. I said this for many months now on here.

I am so happy Tyka finally admitting some of the truth. I hate to be in her shoes now though.

Hi, I'm relatively new here as a member but have lurked for years. I'm posting on this topic b/c it really irks me. This interview puts me back at square one with the process of getting past this. In part b/c it just stirs up more sadness, but also b/c it makes my BS meter spike.

In this interview she says it wasn't hard to learn he died b/c she's known it was coming for two years. In the Today interview she says she's taking this the hardest.

As someone else asked in another thread, if he knew and was making plans, then where is the will? And why all the BS about having an investigation if this was all expected.

Sheila has made statements that he was struggling with pain management b/c of long term injuries. Others have corraborated this.

I just can't anymore with all the statements and contradictions, especially this newest one from Tyka.

As a fan I just feel thoroughly jerked around.

The estate and related parties want our support and our money. Okay, how about a little straightforward honesty. I just can't with this anymore.
