I seriously doubt that they were pressed. We would have seen at least one on eBay by now...

20ten deluxe would have been a double album, very much like lotus flower was, ten tracks on each disc. no track listing was decided on however, Prince was chosing between 30 odd songs, by the time prince.org found out about 20ten deluxe he'd long moved on and was getting ready for the Welcome 2 America shows.

DO you know if these appear on any bootlegs? I can't say I've heard of these before.

They are on one of the 21 nights bootlegs. That eye records released. I can't remember the title. There audience recordings. Prince & The Band runs about 2 minutes it is a studio version. Very much like Musicology.

They were recorded in early 2007 with Maceo, Prince & The Band and Sexy MF 2007 were never intended for release though. The versions we have on bootleg are from a DJ rashida dj set at the indigo2, that sadly end before they carry on. Prince and the Band is close to 5 minutes, the bootleg is only 2 minutes something

The OP states a very interesting point on how several people like to swarm out and attack when certain threads were released.

This is a post aimed at everyone who was posting here in 2010, specifically later on in the year. You may remember this.

So back that year, rumors started circulating about 20Ten Deluxe. But like always, trying to get any kind of official clarification from Prince on his plans, just wasn't going to happen. This was years before he was on Twitter and all that kind of stuff.

I had already become friends with Anthony Malzone, who had done the design work for Lotusflow3r album and website, etc etc etc and was still doing quite a lot of work with Prince. I asked him directly about 20Ten Deluxe. He said yes, it existed, and Prince was in negotiations With Warners about releasing it, and intended to do exactly that. Hot Summer was given to Warners and there was even a WB promo CD that contained that exact song. He told me he was very proud of the deluxe edition and had worked very hard on it. Also, Funkenberry had posted that WB would be releasing 20Ten Deluxe, and when Rich Friends was played on that radio station, it was said to be from that album too.

I posted it here that the album existed. Maybe I shouldn't have. The org was a different place at that time. Anyway - two or three different members (most or all of whom got banned later down the line, funnily enough) threw major, major personal attacks at me, in multiple threads.

I was making it up, they told me.
I was full of shit.
I was "pretending to have insider info"
I was straight up lying.
This album didn't exist.

Blah, blah, blah.

At the end of the day - I knew I was telling the truth, lots of orgers appreciated the info, and the people dogging me out were the usual shit talkers we had around here. I wasn't going to tell them that Anthony was the one that told me about it because I obviously didn't want it getting back to Prince that someone in his employ was saying anything to anyone at unreleased projects. People in the Paisley camp had gotten fired for FAR less than that.

Anyway, I ended up catching heat when the album didn't come out. Of course, those aforementioned banned orgers took great delight in making fun of me for a while after it. It was kinda annoying.

The point to this story is that I just saw this, from my friend Mobeen's new book:

It's nice to finally get some closure on that issue. I'd actually completely forgotten about it until I saw this, and I was like "oh yeah, there was a few assholes clowning me when I told them about this" lol lol lol lol lol

fuck them haters Militant!!! I always look forward and enjoy all of your posts and i really appreciate the fact that you keep the rest of us orgers informed. I'm amazed that you know so much Prince stuff considering you are probably only in your early to mid twenties.

26ten

I think part of the reason I'm so interested in 20ten is that it's sort of a lost record - just like Chocolate Invasion and Slaughterhouse were - at least before Tidal came around and made them easily purchased. I still think those three hold a lot of allure to me because of that.

.

Hoping 20ten deluxe happens at some point. It could be made better by the fact that so many Prince fans never got a chance to get it. Who knows how to quantify the amount of demand for such a thing? Fingers crossed that all the crazy purple things we're holding out for on the org come to see the dawn. Hope the PRN estate gets serious with the releases. With that said - what I've got I'm happy with, so their wishes are cool w/ me either way.

.

But I still hope - you know the drill haha

token troll post: I hope Joshua got his hands on that 2010 Deluxe otherwise it's dry as plastic. Whatever happened to Prince going mad and having to dig out old analogue synths to bop them one more time?

I remember listening to a Prince related podcast, and the guys actually talked to Prince about it. I remember specifically a bit about Prince telling them about a 10 minute version of Lavaux on 20Ten Deluxe.

Yes, that was the Peach & Black boys when they met him in New York.

Regarding "Prince & The Band" - I remember at one of the aftershows I attended at the Indigo2, Prince walked over to join Rashida in the DJ booth, whispered in her ear, and the studio version of that song was played - either straight away or not long after. It certainly seemed that he had specifically asked her to play that song. This of course was in 2007.

Thanks for the support on this thread everyone. I actually think the funniest thing about it is that all the people who were causing problems went on got banned, because of course behaviour like that wasn't just happening to me. And this was long before I myself even became a mod. lol

I tend to think we're a much friendlier board these days lol

Giovanni777 - I also remember that you were posting information about the album and received much the same treatment that I did, despite the fact that our information was corroborated with each other and came from different sources lol
