Will my symbol necklace make it thru airport security? Hey all, just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with bringing or wearing their Prince symbol necklace through airport security. Do they confiscate it, or is OK? Don't hate me 'cause I'm NOT beautiful

It depends on the country and its custom regulations if it´s custom made real gold. If you are worried about its shape being deemed too dangerous, it´s probably best to just hide it under your shirt and in case the metal detector goes off just tell them you are wearing a gold chain. I doubt they´d look closer under your shirt once they see part of the chain. Some countries customs regulations might charge you with a fee/taxes etc. in case it´s real gold. Put it in the tub, run it through. It will be fine. (Insert something clever here)

Ha, I only wish it was real gold. It's actually sterling silver (the cheap stuff), and yeah I'm a little worried that they'll see the sharp point at the bottom and freak out over it. I'm flying within the U.S. Don't hate me 'cause I'm NOT beautiful

Dude - have you never flown before? I mean...how big is the necklace? We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

They'll look at it and ask about it. Happened to me. They let me through.

I fly once a month and it's almost always on me. Haven't had any issues. One TSA woman made a remark about it, well about me rather Other than that, no one has even questioned it. Shouldn't be an issue. From now on, 4 U I shall be wild 💜

I've worn mine literally every day since 2007.

I have worn up to 41 seperate pieces of jewelry -- at one point I had 22 earrings in my right ear, 10 in my left, 3 in my right eyebrow, 3 nose rings, a tongue ring, and two lip piercings -- and never so much as set off the metal detectors in a federal building, nor did I so much as get a raised eyebrow over it. I highly doubt an easily recognized symbol like Prince's is going to twitch security folk within the US. Don't worry about it, yo. Most people aren't going to fuss you about that. They've seen stranger. I imagine myself inside your bedroom; oh, I imagine myself in your sky.

You will probably be fine with the necklace. However, my symbol belt buckle almost DID NOT make it through security (the one sold at Glam Slam, classic symbol, sideways, about 5in long). I had to throw a fit to make them let me keep it. This was around 2002 when airport security was more intense.
