Out of all the vinyl reissues the sound of SOTT will be the one I'm most interested in hearing... I really hope they enhanced the terrible sound on the original issue. | |

PURPLE RAIN jumped up from #16 to #10 this week for the best selling vinyl albums on the BillBoard in the U.S.
Strange none of the reissues didn't even chart indicating less than 1,000 copies sold...

Well in Reply #206 of the 'Part 1' thread I outlined how Amazon insisted I would receive the Sign 'O' the Times reissue LP by 9/27, even after a series of delays. Long story short, it never came. In fact, it hasn't even been sent to the shipper yet. So I just canceled it. . I'm done with this crazy vinyl mystery game...lol. No more Prince product for me until it's a Deluxe Edition/Vault/outtakes box set. | |

The Sign O' The Times release date on Amazon.com is back to 10/21/16...I could of sworn it changed a few times now.
The rest of them seem to be holding at 2/24/17 for now, at least they don't say unavailable yet. [Edited 9/27/16 19:29pm] | |

I have listened to 2 pressings of SOTT German and Japanese... neither sounds bad... The Japanese sounded better... The German pressing was great... the CD edition is very bad and flat but the SHM-CD is an improvement... released in Japan only.... SOTT on vinyl is pure analog as Prince had intended at the time. | |

I think it sounds good, but getting to the last song (Like Forever In My Life for example) its very scrunched, the CD sounds better when you get to those tracks (FIML, Ballad) Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records. | |
