What is your favorite song on Lovesexy? . Other than 'Anna Stesia', what is your favorite song on Love sexy? . What is your gender? Optional . "I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters," Donald Trump

Has to be Alphabet Street but closely followed by Positivity!

I don't think I have one. The individual songs on this album aren't that strong, but together they become more than the sum of their parts. This is exactly the kind of album you need to listen to from start to finish. This is not music, this is a trip. Prince wasn't wrong when he released it as a one-track CD.

It's one helluva funk jam! It's fantastic! No argument there. But still... I can't imagine listening to the Lovesexy song outside of the context of the Lovesexy album. That's what I was trying to say. These songs belong together.

You are making it hard with no Anna Stesia. I would say Alphabet Street followed by Lovesexy.

Anna Stestia!!!! ....oh wait...can't say that .... hmmm.... this whole album is so amazing....once this album starts, it is really hard for me to turn off without finishing it. My next favorite song would probably be (at the moment) Lovesexy (though other times it would have been Alphabet Street or I Wish U Heaven or Glam Slam). Such a beautiful album.... not sure who else besides Prince could make anything like this!

I agree this album is a trip. I enjoy it the most when I listen to it as Prince intended. I could not stand Alphabet Street when it was first released but for some reason absolutely loved the video. IIRC it was the first time I had seen Prince in a video without a band for a long time so that's why I loved it so much . If I have to name one track it would be the one that can't be named so if I can't say that one it has to be Lovesexy. i'm a bit of a lovesexy hater to be honest, and i love the title track. it's the only song on the album i really like and listen to it as a stand-alone song reasonably often. it's spacey, weird, goes all over the place, and rocks pretty hard. i don't say this to be negative or a downer, but only to say that i might be the one guy who likes it outside of the record.

Thanks for explaining how it was made. I understand that during a blizzard, Prince demanded a camera crew come out in the middle of a snowstorm to record it. To meet his demands, local camera men were used who had less than stellar equipment for the job. Anyway despite the negatives, I loved that video. Prince was my main focal point and he looked good and that was good enough for me at the time. Compared to RB which I think is the perfect partnership of visual and song there is no contest. I also loved the Kiss video but it wasn't just P on his own in that one. Wendy sat and strummed her guitar and P danced with a masked woman, not the same vibe. Previously to that the last time I think I saw Prince in a video on his own was the one for IWBYL. Come now, isn't life a little better with a pair of good shoes? - Prince 1985
