9 to 5 People. Whoa this is the Jam. Electra Funkified Camille/Crystal Ball Era Groove that made my ears grin from lobe to lobe!! To think this track hasn't even been mentioned anywhere before, Amazing...
And these soundboards are off da hook too.
I didn't even mention the Peach soundboard Encore from the Glam Slam show i was at back in 94'.
What a week we're having huh?

Its the same song but a different version. Prince gave it to Martyn Ware to produce for Jills second PP album, and he did this along with 3 other tracks Bitch this ain't the movies

Cool--I was just about to ask for more details--listening to the two versions right now. It didn't sound like Prince was responsible for this recording--I like it, but I also liked the two voices on the other version.

. I didn't necessarily say that Jill was the leaker. . Nor did I mean to suggest that it is a direct leak, rather than through multiple changes of hand. . And my speculation applied to only some of the leaks. . However, it is curious--fortuitous timing if nothing else-- that two recent leaks are demos or alternate versions of songs from her first and proposed second PP album (having openly leaked the other take of '4 Lust' a number of years ago), and a third rumored in the past to have been considered or worked on for JJ's first album ('Come Elektra Tuesday'), and she's been having some social media tantrums recently, and her complaint regarding 'Glamorous Life' being given to Sheila E and the appearance of a demo to that song for the first time in the history of non-elite trading (maybe the latter prompted the former, I didn't closely follow the timeline). . And 'Roadhouse Garden', '9 to 5 People', 'Eggplant' are not in mono or from the same sound source. . [Edited 9/19/16 17:23pm]

I have no idea on the other 3 tracks, other than they had no Prince involvement whatesoever. 4 Lust was the only track Prince gave him to produce. What would be interesting to leak would be the original demo Prince sent to martyn, which I believe wasnt the same as the duet demo that circulates Bitch this ain't the movies

. It began as his own song. Then a pseudo-duet (think 'Unforgettable') at an uncertain time, most likely mid/late 1987, although there is some suggestion that the version we had until recently was worked on for the first JJ album, which could redate the origins of the track signficantly (perhaps late 1986 - early 1987, if true). Then Clare Fisher overdubs in Early 1988 (it obviously didn't make the first album, if it was even recorded before its release). Sent to be dance-pop-newjackized by Martyn Ware in 1989, before the second album project appears to die completely in the Summer of 1989, when P's resources are stretched thin by GB, a MD/Time project, Margie Cox, in the context of any already strained emotional relationship with Jill. . Correct Bitch this ain't the movies

I misread your post--I somehow read the "he" in "he did this..." as being Prince, not Ware. So, yeah, I'm not that interested now. I'm still interested some, because it's still Jill.

What did Wendy do to Jill for her to seek revenge? I'm clueless on that one

will the whole track of whiskey be released????

. There's a decent chance, considering recently leaked The Flesh 'album' is the bootlegger's capricious and spurious selections from those sessions (oddly missing the authentic polished mixing and overdubs that 'U Gotta Shake Something' evidenced when it was leaked on 'Studio Nights' decades ago), and this leak appears to be from the same tape source. . Partial leaks from someone who has a copy of the session tapes (the December 1985 half; work continued later in January 1986), not likely to be a/the legitimate demo album, if one was ever properly assembled (and even if these tracks made up such a demo album configuration). . Yea, I feel U peedub, I was thinking the same thing about the mods locking out other mods. 9-5 didn't fit in with this thread but it's there's to decide...Totally feeling "Rebirth of the flesh" sessions in this song. I could have seen this making an appearance during the Third Eye Shows.

I shared a few of the new goodies with a non-org friend today (it was her birthday) - and she called me "the Prince fairy." We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

And where are those goodies?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Let's not forget JJ's backing on Come Elektra Tuesday. And she recorded a later version of Rough in 86.
She's so related to a lot of the recent stuff... She could be a source, not necessarly the leaker(s) himself . [Edited 9/20/16 0:24am]
