I named my daughter after this song. It's wonderful and for some reason, when he sings it live it's better. Something about the vocals live that makes it greater!!! There are some live performances of it. I just don't remember where. | |

It was released as a single in the US to promote the Hits albums. It was a modest hit on the R&B charts (#14) but bombedd on the Top 100 charts (#50). Chart issues probably related to Prince backlash at the time and the song is too unique for radio. |

This is the song I use to demonstrated to people who don't know Prince him playing all the instruments, doing all the vocals, the arraingements, writing and producing. If you listen to it closely there is so much going on and one person doing it all. I hear something different everytime..Brilliant! ..Hello, who is it?

While it's truly baffling that this song never made an album, I will say it certainly supports Prince's statement that he didn't always offer his best work to record labels. . It certainly was a cream-of-the-crop choice to be a non-album track added as a bonus cut on The Hits / The B-sides. At the time, I was reluctant to buy that set.
