I want them Come Home and Come Elektra Tuesday so much in studio versions. I don't lose hope that someday a good soul will open the vault for us and leak more high quality stuff. You always thought you've heard everything in 30 years of fandom but there is still so much to discover. Listening to "new" old songs for the first time never ceases to absolutely blow me away. |

You are over hyping it. You cannot tell from this recording how good the song is. Get a grip and stop leading people on who haven't heard it.

Doesn't sound much different from the Mavis Staples version. Thankfully we have that until or if we get this version as it's a great song.
I did think the Prince vocal version of I Guess I'm Crazy took it to another level.
yes, exactly.
it`s like he couldn`t wait to hear Mavis sing it - a singer he loved so much - and therefore
taking it to the top. Love...thy will b done |

That's probably one of the most limited and narrow-minded statements I've ever read when it comes to a fan of Prince's music, especially one that should know about the sheer amount of unreleased & leaked tracks out there.
It's about hearing the music, despite the quality. Period. "Pristine" is an illusion, because a YouTube video or an MP3 are both compressed and the quality is already less-than perfect studio quality. Hell, even your computer speakers playing a CD are limiting you from hearing what was actually put on the CD.
But you're basically saying you'd rather not ever hear an unreleased leaked Prince track because it's "sub-standard quality"???? Who are you even?
Wow. First of all, thank you for the "most limited and narrow-minded statement". Nice from you.
I was only sayin' that I'm not interested to make some catch over the net to obtain truncated and bad sounding tracks, even if that tracks are unreleased. When I will find it, I will listen once to it for curiosity. That's all. But I'm not in the need to check for it and hunt it, it could be a months away and I would be fine the same.
Does it qualify me as a bad "fan"??!?!?
You ask who I am....
I am someone who tracked down "The Black Album" back in 1987 weeks before the release of "Lovesexy" and someone who shared cassettes with bad sounding outtakes and alternate versions with other fans and listened for years to bootleg releases like "Chocolate Box" (to say one), even if the sound was far from the actual standards.
Is this qualifyin' me better than others?!?!? No, at all.
But you asked me, and I answered you.
Now let me understand how to listen to a truncated PA recording of an unreleased make you a better "fam" that I am, and let me understand how it is possible to answer to a "limited and narrow-minded statement with an even more "limited and narrow-minded statement" like yours.
Wow, that escalated quickly.

It sounds like the same backing track that Mavis overdubbed, but it has an uneditted outro. . |

Beautiful. The vocals and emotional range far surpasses Mavis' version. |

Actually, I think Mavis killed it. Stunning vocal. Prince's version sounds nice, but I think a lower range suits this song better.
