I just can't reconcile myself to the thought of a Prince biopic at all, even if it is almost inevitable.
I just don't see how it would be anything other than cringeworthy - how could anyone hope to even get close.
I would far rather Asif Kapadia (the guy who made Senna and Amy) took his time and did a similar film about Prince. As long as he was givan access, there is so much film footage, that I think he could make something really special.
He does not tend to do 'talking head' films with lots of people reminiscing - he tends to use footage and interviews from the time to build up a portrait.

I think they should dig deep and take a risk. Something so creative that no one would see it coming. My vote goes to Reginald VelJohnson. There. I said it.

In my opinion it could be only be one person that could do prince justice in a film and that's Lenny Kravitz img] also check out utube prince and lenny singing lenny's song American women they really rip this song! [img]

Lenny kravitz was excellent in the movie Precious snd simply wonderful on the guitar. He resembles prince and was s close friend. It would be a breakout role for him but honestly i think he could nail it.

He was good as MJ. I just found out a few years ago he died back in the mid-90s. OMG, I just looked at his IMDB...he died 1993, at 24 years old from a rare form of leukemia. He was just a baby. That makes me sad as hell. RIP

Zoe Saldana can't play P...at 5'7" she'd be far too tall in heels. Lenny can't do it cuz he's not only too tall, but he's got visible tattoos. But maybe he could play the guitar on-screen. Nah, we'd need him to play himself in the biopic. Hmmm...

I'd say an unknown actor if it's really necessary to make a bio pic about P. I can't think of anyone at this point. 'Liberate My Mind'

I can't imagine anyone. Prince was so legendary that it would be impossible to impersonate him, unless it was a cartoon. - I don't want to see anyone doing him the same like to Aaliyah or Michael Jackson. full lips, freckles, and upturned nose

I think they could get away with someone about 5'6" playing him, because how many AA actors are out there from 5'2" to 5'4"? Once they get beyond the height, they need a similar skin color (which of course they could match with cosmetics). But the actor would have to be able to fake it on guitar and piano, and then deliver in the romantic scenes. Which means he would have to be FINE ....... Someone women would love to love ... The swagger would have to be there. And, lastly, he would have to not wear any underwear so that we could post photos of the swangin' ...

Thinking about this a little more: are there any drag queens out there who portray Prince? It might not be a stretch.

Like others, not ready right now to see a bio pic of P, but if they do one, that's who I'd love to see . I don't think her height would be an issue. I never once thought of height when I saw Prince on the big screen anyway. Dude was so much larger than life that his, um, size never even registered while watching P do his thing. Height. Yeah, I meant height.

Whatever they were going for, they got it and then some with Chris Tucker. I would've have been embarrassed for P to have been in that movie in general, but that role in particular. I think that the publuc/media would've ridiculed him and never let him live it down. Ever. And I think that the distraction caused by that negative attention would've negatively impacted his musical career. Sorry, not sorry. [Edited 9/2/16 4:50am]

I know the correct answer is no one!!! However, it probably is going to happen more than once...the only person who comes to mind at the moment is Andre 3000 (although he did the Hendrix biopic already).
