I think you're right.

Have you seen that shit when someone tries to play Michael Jackson on a biopic? DO you really want that for Prince? The only way is to motion capture someone that can move and act like him and then CG that shit Benjamin Button style. PERIOD.

If I saw Rick Gonzalez playing prince I would feel sick.

I have never seen P perform live, I admit it. I don’t go to concerts; I love Broadway. I’m live only an hour’s train ride to get to NYC, so any live events I spend my hard earned dollars on are Broadway plays. I’ve seen great actors like Cicely Tyson, James Franco, Vanessa Williams, Chris O’Dowd, Alec Baldwin … the list goes on. Broadway is where I find my live entertainment of choice.

Among the Broadway plays where the subject was groups or singers, I have seen plays such as Jersey Boys (The Four Seasons) and Beautiful (Carole King). I was crying at the end of Beautiful; it was fantastic, as it was the music of my generation (every song held special memories). At the end of Beautiful the entire audience was on their feet and singing along to ‘I feel the earth move’. Jersey Boys has been running since 2005!

I think a Broadway musical of P’s life would be outstanding and would run for years!

A movie would be here and gone in a few months, but a real Broadway production could run for years. And you must admit there is nothing quite the same as seeing a live performance. I think P would be honored and love to see his work, legacy, songs, and yes, even his life portrayed on Broadway. Oh, come on, his name in lights on Broadway, in Times Square, NYC!? Of course, he would love it. The production could tour to cities all over the USA and the world for everyone to enjoy. P’s life story is way more than a 2-hour movie; it’s a production for generations to enjoy!!!!

As for the actor playing the leading role, I’m sure there is someone out there who will be perfect for the role and I have faith that the casting directors will indeed find the perfect person. Just my thoughts. Sorry for the long post.

No movie for at least 25 years, which means the actor is still in diapers...or grade school or something. We need distance so that someonce unknown to us now could create an onscreen character who "could" be Prince.

And he'd have to be one talented actor because dancing and stage presence would be required. (They could use P's voice for the singing. Happens all the time in biopic movies.)

My thoughts exactly, well maybe not 25 years (by then I'm going to hate everybody), but some time needs to pass, give us a minute to breathe. Build interest instead of everything capitalizing on a frenzy. And a must is stage presence, cute it one thing, personality a whole other thing, Prince was a persona not just a face.

To avoid the PC police, it would have to be an African-American actor. This might sound strange because the kid seems really out there, but they would probably go to Jaden Smith or, in a pinch, Evan Ross. But the swagger ... no one has that.
