I feel giving Prince fans access to Paisley Park from the U.S. and all over the world will help bring closure - if that is even fully possible. I am shocked that it is happening in October but get the move due to the tribute concert. Exactly! Maybe just have one or two areas allowed but everthing else not allowed...if people know what its all about, they may decide its not worth going at all. I want PP to be around for years and years!

Just because that is what you and some other fans may want, doesn't mean it is what Prince wanted. With that kind of wealth, it's just so beyond ridiculous if he really did not have a Will or at least a Trust prepared.

Its all maybes isnt it. I guess some people have more repect and class than others. Its too soon. Simple as. I keep having to turn his music on and off. Still trying to come to terms with his death.A true fan. That's my feelings on it. Its turned into a money making circus. Which you are falling for. Me I am going to take my time and see how this unfolds first. See if they show prince the respect he deserves which I'm afraid hasn't happened so far. Each to there own. I'm out.

if P had had a house at a separate location, that would be weird to do tours of it at any time. and i think if P had to pass, PP was the best possible place for that to happen, for his sake. even though it has 'the elevator', its also the place where he's most alive. I guess in my mind he is still alive, and this is a way to keep his energy alive instead of a memorial, which would be a worldwide acknowledgement of his passing. Instead, they are keeping it about Life. Prince's essence lives on thru people, but PP is the physical center of his Vision being carried out on earth. The only way to keep PP open until next year is to do everything they can this year to come up with $150 million dollars before January. Hence the tours, tribute concert, and perhaps recordings released later? It seems smart to have such extended hours -- i guess that will help them determine which hours are most popular for next year. i see this as an experimental prototype of a museum which will continue to evolve and i would like to go maybe once a year to see whats new. i think the interactive aspects take more time to set up.

antonb, You seem to be forgetting that turning Paisley Park into a museum, is what PRINCE WANTED. He has been collecting memorabilia for years.

Exactly!! He wanted it to be a museum and apart from his living quarters which are not part of the tour..It is a place that many,many artists came to record.He held many events there..He wanted that to continue.Hopefully in the future concerts/events will be held there again someday.

I would like to visit PP one day, watch a filmed Prince concert, and then on the weekend see Mint Condition (among others) play there.

I didn't see this interview but I'm going to assume that you have and you've asked so I will answer. I think that if she would like to donate money to help pay the tax bills in January that it would a lovely gesture for a former Prince protege to make. Given that it appeared she was a friend of the family, I'm surprised she would go public and say something so unsupportive of the family like that, but what do I know? As an aside, do I need to point out that it seems like so many are working hard to strike while the iron is hot to make money off Prince's name? Her too, using his symbol on her shirt. Sooooo.........there you have it.

There are tens of thousands of available fan and pro photos and fan and pro videos of Graceland. Every item, every nook and cranny, is available in close-up, broad view and sideways. Tickets still sell out. Don't be afraid of it.

IMO it would be worse if people paid to travel to Paisley, paid for tour tickets, hotel, food, then told everyone they knew that it wasn't worth it. Let the folks who will feel that way check out photos and decide to stay home instead - that's my 2 cents.

But since they are into "what Prince allowed" with the vegetarian food, they'll probably ban photos too just because he did.

Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion.

Two tours is very wise, b/c your heads and emotions will be swimming in how surreal it is for much of the first go-around for sure, and you'll want to remember everything. Love that you're going together, kids-free this time, and taking something the kids will make. Made my day!

Got VIP tickets for the morning of Nov 4, and GA tickets for the last tour of the day on Nov 4. Figured if we were going to fly from Texas to MN, might as well experience both tours. . I bought a VIP ticket today for October 13, and will be flying in from Boston for the occasion. Yes, my thought exactly! I will be flying from West Virginia to Minneapolis on 10/10 and plan on spending the whole week trying to do the same as you. I want to be in his "environment", thank him for all of his music and hopefully it will help me to put him to rest.

While I think opening PP for tours will be wonderful, I agree with Sheila and other's -- October is just too soon. But on the other hand, I think the reason they want to get this going is so they can keep Paisley Park (financial reasons). I read that P's estate owes a lot of taxes and they (Bremer Trust) has to sell-off his properties. So with that, saving PP (which is what Prince would want) is a beautiful thing. We are are still mourning his loss, but maybe this will begin to give us (his friends) some closure. Just my thoughts......

Lucky lucky you to be able to spend a week exploring the area . When I think I can go, I plan to do the same. I want to be able to take my time with all of it
