The operative word is 'professional'. I have spent quite some time in professional service to well known people.

I can say I have been fired for doing the right thing when it needed to be done and when it put myself or my client in jeopardy. I was thanked later on. I was blackballed and excised from the circle though - but f-that. I wasn't going to be a party to anyones self-destruction - I did what I had to do for them and myself.
Even if you SUSPECT and you are in a professional capacity - your own life is in danger.

People were too scared to lose their place in the circle, were madly in love or both.

Either one precludes rational professional assessment and action imo.

Good lord it was an Instagram post paying tribute to her boss right after he passed. She's not going to talk about weight loss or health issues or whatever. We have no idea what his inner circle was/wasn't doing.

they obviously weren't doing enough as he is dead. for some very STRANGE reasons.

His recent run of managers were no more than personal assistants, who carried out what Prince wanted. I guess he knew he wanted to manage himself, but without the day-to-day tasks (chasing pblishing cheques, label relations, promoter relations, etc).

Notice how there was never any long-term strategy after 2007 (21 nights and Superbowl happened that year, glorious). It was just lots of stop/start projects with no real strategy behind them.

And also no really consistent revenue source coming in for years.
