I wish UTCM was better received...I always wondered if it HAD been...if he would have gone one to do even more movies (I know GB was also not hugely loved, but think the combination of two not big successes in the film world deterred him from doing more movies. Which is such a damn shame! I think he enjoyed film projects (and acting) and based on him stating he wrote multiple scripts for films and musicals...if he had better success with those two...we might have got to see some more.

It was his sensitive feminine side that realized that... Sad because in other interviews he said that they encouraged him and told him he could be anything he wanted and were very supportive. I think sometimes he just wanted to portray a wonderful home life. I think those are the ones who are truly sad and alone

I watched UTC again today and noticed something on 31:07-:10....when they are walking out to dance on the balcony....would somebody mind making a gif of that segment? I think you'll know what I'm talking about if you look a little lower....or are my eyes seeing something not there?

you're not imagining things...but pretty sure it exists as a gif already. If I can find it i will post it for you

I think he was a great comedic actor, not given enough credit for it. But I think his whole career and life was acting too... Putting on a show to make people happy, even when he wasn't.

Definitely not enough credit given, but I think he was a great actor. Comedic, yes, for UTCM, but Purple Rain - for someone who hadn't acted before (at least in this extent), he nails the emotions in such a raw way! Was it perfect thoughout...no, but for someone's first shot out the gate, I think he was great in PR. With UTCM we got to see the fun side some more, with a little more flair too, making it extra fun and special! I truly think if those UTCM and/or GB - at least one of them - had more positive receptions, that he might have been inspired to continue more film projects instead of shelving those ideas. I suspect, just like his stage performance, his musicianship, the lyrics and absolutely everything else regarding Prince that just became more refined, more exceptional with time, the future film projects would've been incredible!

Hey fam

Man, I was having a pretty decent day until I started watching footage of The Rev show tonight. My heart cannot handle that. It's all so incredible yet gut wrenching at the same time, it all just came flooding back within a matter of seconds.
