There is an article today from Mary Lucia about Prince. She has written beautifully about him.
The fact that she felt like she had swallowed a shot glass every time she tried to speak on April 21.
She speaks about having "understanding and mercy" regarding addiction. I don't think anyone else has used the word "mercy." It is up on the level of "grace" for me.
But then she says, "... that people who live in personal darkness can create some of the most vivid, meaningful and colorful art."
Mary Lucia has put what many of us have been trying to say for nearly six months in her piece. I applaud her for that.

I don't understand why it is so important for some people to identify Prince as an addict. Is it because of a personal struggle with addiction? The wooh is on the one!

I think because it's such hyprocricy the way Prince was so seemingly against drugs, etc. . He created this clean and healthy image, and that's why a lot of us where so surprised. . For me, it makes so much sense that because of this it was extremely hard for him to seek treatment. I'm sure he knew the public would find out and that must have been a lonely and scary existance for him. If only he could have known that his true fans would respect him MORE for seeking help. Eventually every cloud runs out of rain.
