This.
In terms of his death, that is. Who knows what ST is gunning for. I doubt it's evidence of drug use, but I've stated that repeatedly so I'll stop now. And, I don't think Mani needs much of a reason to fight it. They agreed to sealed files. I wouldn't want everyone all up in my business either, even if I didn't have anything to hide. Then it's just going to be endless fodder, with some people thinking she got too much and others that she got too little (or happy she got little). Why wouldn't she fight it? Ugh. Thanks for sharing your expertise with us. Actually it makes a lot of sense what you said. In addition to that ,I remember reading in Possessed that people were saying in the ninties Prince was having problems with Percocet and in the late 90s it was getting really bad and people were concerned because his dark side was taking over more and more. I'm paraphrasing, I'm not trying to gossip but I just wanted to add that because it does add some support to your theory that he would have had to have built up a tolorance for painkillers to not appear out of it. Whether that part in the book is true or not, Prince's behavior did seem really odd/erratic at times in the 90s, you have to admit.

So sorry for your suffering such pain and all the complications that go with pain meds. I agree with you that the pain of his withdrawal with no one to confide in is something that haunts me all the time.
I was given an antidepressant for hormonal imbalance when I couldn't tolerate hormone thereapy. When I wanted to quit the antidepressant, the withdrawal symptoms were so severe, it took 10 years to finally get off the stuff!!!! Everytime I would try to stop the prescription, I would become so ill - I just refilled it and gave up. I found many blogs online afterwards, that proved many people are super sensitive to the withdrawals from this particular drug. The doctors who prescribed it didn't have a clue. So, the physical symptoms of withdrawal are common and painful. HE deserved better. But he wouldn't let anyone help or even stay there with him that night.
Elvis Presley was addicted to prescription drugs when he died. My sweet mother was a huge fan of his. I always think of Prince as my "Elvis" in relation to my Mom's undying love for him when I was growing up. Last week, Linda Thompson was interviewed in People magazine. Some of the things she revealed about her relationship with Elvis upset my mother terribly.
My thought was, will I read something about P that breaks my heart even 20 years from now???
Oh my goodness 10 years holy crap! That's horrible! I can only imagine how difficult both physically and emotionally that had to be. Praise God u managed to get off it and remain healthy. None of the other stars death hit me like this one and I guess it's because of my own personal battle. I've cried for him so many times while I'm praying and just keep thinking how sorry I am he suffered alone. No matter what the reason he started, clearly he wanted to stop snd was looking g for alternatives. He just didn't know how hard it would be and the withdrawals were out of his control. The one time I suffered full blown withdrawals in the last 8-10 years, I thought I was dying. My while body jerked uncontrollably and I vomited and poured sweat and my chest hurt. My mom literally held me and rocked me while I cried and begged for God to take me BC I did t wanna live in pain anymore. Had I had access to any kind of meds that night, I domt think I could have stopped myself. Not BC I am an addict, far from it, but BC it was just too much to take. I'm human and so was he. Never in my life felt like that and pray that I never do again. The only comfort this brings me is knowing he know longer suffers and one day I won't as well. In the meantime I am grateful for amazing pain Dr and neurosurgeons. Spread your wings and fly Prince!!! [Edited 8/15/16 20:52pm]

I assumed it was Mayte that had the gene because she later adopted right? I assume since Mayte wanted to have a child she would have given birth to one after her divorce to Prince. [Edited 8/15/16 22:00pm] I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

Not long b4 April he was kicking off on twit coz someone put the petite prince on a flier. You really think he'd be cool with his sealed divorce papers being made public? No I don't know what P would want, but 30 yrs of studying the man I think I know a little bit. "We just let people talk & say whatever they want 2 say. 9 times out of 10, trust me, what's out there now, I wouldn't give nary one of these folks the time of day. I agree that we don't know what Prince would have wanted with regard to his estate. But, if you consider two facts -- that he agreed to seal the divorce files 10 years ago and he was reluctant to talk about his personal life to the press -- I think we can say with fairly reasonable accuracy that he would not want the ST to get his divorce files unsealed. Do we know his mind? No. But that's pretty good evidence that he would agree with Mani on this one.
The rest of it...what to do with his estate...you're right, we don't have a clue. Personally, I think preserving his legacy should be the priority, rather than second-guessing what he might have wanted. It's the living that have to deal with it, not the dead.
