I posted this awhile ago and this makes me SO sad. I know she had her reasons but I would NEVER have even thought 2 sell the ring and no way in hell the notes, that's personal. I can't imgine how he felt when he saw this.

And I agree with you competely. I only give her a pass for selling the ring because I know that people do sell their rings after they get divorced and I don't think she should be held to a different standard just because she was married to Prince. I probably sound judgemental, and I don't want to be judgemental, but selling the notes is really tacky. The only reason she could sell them is because she was married to Prince. Most anybody else who wanted to get rid of love notes would just put them in the trash. Maybe that is what she wanted to do, but she thought, maybe some Prince fan would appreciate this? That's pure speculation by me, but regardless, it looks like a "money grab," whether that was the intent or not. Also, the notes are very private and Prince was very private. I doubt he would want her to sell them to someone, let alone make public that she was selling them via Instagram.

If it was me, I would either keep the ring as is or have a jeweler remove the diamonds and put them in a necklace or some other piece of jewelry. (Maybe that is tacky, but it seems like a better use of the diamonds than selling them or letting the ring sit and collect dust). The love notes I would keep with pride, almost like a trophy, as evidence that Prince loved me above all other women, at one point in his life! Maybe that's sexist, I don't know, but seriously, millions of women loved him, yet he chose to marry Mayte.
