A bag of Doritos brought me to tears Was in the area this afternoon and stopped by PP. I thought I was ready for the reality to smack me in the face, but then I saw that someone had left a little bag of Doritos by the fence and it just started all over. Like ripping the scab off a wound that wasn't ready... I took a picture but can't quite seem to figure out how to upload from my phone. U can be the side effect, I'd rather be the dope.

. Prince's 2004 Musicology tour rider specifies "one bag of tortilla chips" under his name. No brand name listed. So leaving Doritos at PP is good. No generics from the fam!
It's pretty interesting. How clean things must be, the specific brand names, etc. (Prince got Fiji water, NPG women "water" LOL). It's 8 pages long: http://www.thesmokinggun....ame/prince . Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

ok.. so I'm reading this Thread and I come across the link to P's Rider.. I read through it and see on the last page that he was having B-12 Shots and I thought I'd investigate this.. Let me know if you'd rather I started another thread.. but it was intersting reading why someone might have B-12 Shots and i came across Pernicious Anemia:
http://www.medicinenet.com/pernicious_anemia/page2.htm the link on symptoms and treatment above..
Its funny as his Body Guard said that he only ever saw P having B-12 Shots
Gaither did note that doctors visited Prince from time to time.
"Only time doctors would come in, they would give him a B-12 shot, something like that, when he might have been feeling sick or low on energy. But other than that, he wasn't taking stuff. He had more energy than everybody just off his natural presence."
....and I also read in another thread that P said in an interview he had vertigo, also in one of the stories after his death it said that he saw his doctor S the week of his death and was treated for anemia.. so I wonder weather he possibly had this for many years possibly an underlying condition.. I'm just putting it out there as I read about the B-12 Shots and thought about other things I've read in other articles and threads... anyway.. just thinking out aloud I guess...

he sure liked em in the purple rain era. I liked em too and just thought it was one more thing that made me like my idol.

i didn't read too much into that. when you are a star people try to make themselves necessary by offering that kind of stuff, doctors aren't immune from being starstruck. Anyway, Sugar Ray Robinson, the great boxer, routinely took b-12 shots before fights. More of a mental thing than a necessity.

I'm daft, I know - but I found reading that runner, and P's actually very modest requirements so, so moving...Bless his heart with his little pot of hummus and pita bread...I feel incredibly sad now.

Ok. Remember the pictures of P in St. Barts? He was getting off the helicopter in head to toe black, including hat, jacket and gloves? I've been anemic since childhood and take iron daily, B12 tablets daily and B12 shots every couple of months (or if I'm sick which is, surprisingly, not very often). It's a joke in my family that I cuddle up in my blankie, even in Summer. When I saw P's pictures getting off the helicopter, I was confused until I read about the anemia in an article. Then I realized the probable reason he was wearing so many clothes in the Caribbean. Has it ever been mentioned what flavor of Doritos was P's favorite? [Edited 8/3/16 5:27am]

I wonder how legit this document is. Page 7 references meat. I didn't think P allowed meat anywhere around him. Paisley Park is in your heart

. It's legit. Notice that it's "for 60". They are feeding all the roadies, techs and band members. . Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I know Paul McCartney was very strict on that; I don't think his roadies were allowed to eat meat on the road with him. They'd have to go somewhere and pay for it themselves. I don't think they were too happy about that. Paisley Park is in your heart

I've heard Quincy Jones talk about how these prima donna stars have all these conditions that need to be met. He spoke disparingingly of them but to be honest, who knows how much of that is the star and how much of that is the idiots around them making those demands.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I didn't see anything all that uniquely demanding. Not like Fiji water is all the hard to find.

Some bandmembers never stopped eating meat occasionally and were quite surprised when they heard that they were declared an "all vegetarian band" in the late 90s. But as far as I know, most folks were not allowed to bring meat into Paisley. I think George Clinton was one of the few who simply ignored that rule. i didn't look at it, my point is, prince probably didn't even write the damn list. That kind of thing makes the star look bad, i've heard about those kinds of request sheets and they disgust me. I'll probably never get anywhere in music but if i do, i'll never allow that kind of shit around me.

YES, we discussed that topic to death. And I must admit I really enjoyed it. If memory serves me right I think I was in fact one of those who started one of those Doritos threads (we´ve had several over the years). I really liked the Doritos threads and I think it is a threadworthy little info. I also enjoy reading tour riders a lot. There´s another one floating around from the Purple Rain tour. I have it somewhere on the Days of Wild CD Rom that Uptown magazine created. Interesting to see the changes compared to Musicology. I wish we had more tour riders....for the other tours.
