Nobody told me he did Electric Intercourse in 2014??

I just heard the tune from Birmingham. Good God, really stunning. The people laughing and talking in the background. I would kill them right now--yes, kill them.

I listened in stunned silence.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

I first saw the video when it was originally posted 3 months ago on the paisley park tumblr page (it has since been removed but is still showing in the google results -see below). I must have played it at least 30 times in a row. I too was stunned by the beauty of it... and also very annoyed by the disrespectful people laughing in the background.

Dude.

I was there. (I'm from Birmingham)

And I was pretty much right at the front, because I got to the venue super early, like midday or so. There was maybe 50-100 of us that got numbered and allowed in before anyone else.

He was probably no more than 20 feet in front of me. He started playing the song and I had a moment of confusion where I started singing along in my head for a couple of seconds before realization hit in that it was Electric Intercourse, and then my eyes widened and my jaw dropped. I couldn't believe it.

Just, absolutely amazing. One of my best P concert memories.

Crazy thing - months before Prince announced tickets, I bought Nine Inch Nails tickets, the same venue, which ended up being 3 days after Prince played. Then Prince played again the day after NIN, and I didn't have tickets, but my friend who works at LG phoned me that very same morning to tell me he'd got me VIP tickets. So I ended up going to the same venue 3 times in the space of 5 days lol lol It was a very surreal week.

I was there in bham - not a casual fan but didn't know Electic Intercourse

To be honest it didn't leave a massive impression on me and I preferred the rest of the set. Definitely think it was lost on the crowd overall and he changed up the set for a more 'arena' style show when he came back to play a few days later (plus some rarities at the very end after the encores)

I'll check the song out again to see if I was wrong though, sure I'll appreciate it more in the future and kick myself for not going crazy over it being played in front of me!

different energy too

When listening 2 it in 1983 it was brand new, but the audience response was wonderful.
But that was an electric night...
