Clarification on something eerie Prince said I remember seeing an orger post something very eerie Prince said at his concert after his plane scare.
In reference to his plane scare, he said something along the lines of, "I don't need no save shot! If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen. I'm ready." Can anyone clarify, elaborate? Those who were there? Thanks (Edited the concert part, I got them mixed up) [Edited 7/30/16 21:32pm]

That is absolutely not true. First of all, the P&AM show was in January and the plane incident was in April. TRUE BLUE

Prince would NEVER say such a thing.

I was there. This did not happen. The plane scare happened in April. The gala took place in January.

This belongs in the Absurdities and rumors sticky. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

No, it doesn't belong in rumors thread. It's a real question about something I saw an orger say on here.
And I got the concert wrong. It wasn't the P&M. It was that concert he put on AFTER his plane scare. There WAS an orger ON HERE who said that Prince said he didn't want a save shot. I can see Prince saying this. It's very relevant and important because that tells us a lot about his awareness of his own mortality. He knew he was in trouble. If that orger who posted that reads this, please clarify or elaborate. [b][Edited 7/30/16 21:30pm]

Well that orger lied, he didn't say it. So that's, that.

However, I never heard that quote from anyone. He did say something about save your prayers for a few days or something like that.

I hadn't heard anything like that. In the days following his death, there were some weirdo posters coming on, presumably they had dormant accounts but one came on with screenshots of Prince saying he thought about suicide. Of course people told them to knock that off because they knew they were just trying to stir shit up. I don't know what gets into people but rumours do tend to run amok with the famous. How they start, why they start, you'd go crazy trying to understand.

ya, and someone who was there at the pp show said prince looked really pissed. I wasn't there, but if he was pissed, it would make sense. Prince put too much energy into his privacy, i could see him being upset that his business was out in the street. Some people, one of the things they need to learn in life is that they can't control everything, Prince was one. If you believe that we are all born to learn lessons, i believe that is the lesson he was born to learn.

[Edited 7/30/16 21:32pm] [/quote] I think you are referring to his appearance at the dance party he had a few days after the plane scare, not a P&M show. However, I never heard that quote from anyone. He did say something about save your prayers for a few days or something like that.[/quote] Yes. It is the danceparty I'm referring to. And I've also heard multiple people say that he was agitated. The "save your prayers" comment being a display of that. I really wish I had screen shot what the orger said. It was someone who was there. I'm probably getting the wording wrong so people need to relax about being so pedantic. Also, if you weren't there, don't talk with certainty about anything. I'm interested only in the opinions of those that attended. What the orger mentioned definitely seemed plausible and it went in line with how irritated he was. Maybe he did not say the words "save shot", but it was along those lines.

The info about the save shot didn't come out untill after he died. I highly doubt Prince would have referred to it in public like this. Remember at the time they said he had been battling flu, that was the official line from his camp. Baby, you're a star.

The quote was "wait a few days before you waste your prayers on me" ... he allegedly seemed agitated at the paisley Park concert on the Saturday. He said that and then retired for the night after showing off the guitar and piano I believe. It may be eerie as he may have known something we don't know. We really don't know what the doctors at that hospital told him or saw in his paperwork.

I'm sorry, but I don't think it's pedantic when the quote's being used are totally different. 'Waste your prayers' and 'I don't need no save shot!'really are not similar quotes. The waste your prayers quote was printed many times just before and after his death, the save shot one, well, thats the first time i have heard that one, and if it were true, the whospapers and scagazines would have been all over it. So yeah,it would have been pedantic if the quotes were similar, but to me, they are certainly not.

. So why don't you use the SEARCH function (above) and prove that it was posted here?
Otherwise, I'm afraid you fall into the same category as the person posted the "90% woman" BS here last week. . Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

No he wouldn't. | |

That sounds like something Cristopher Tracy would say. NOT Prince. "I was here in the beginning and I'll be here forever more"

I was at the party and the only reference he made to the plane incident was the waiting a few days to send prayers remark. He started off talking in the L4OA/NPGMC room. He said if it wasn't for Kirk, the P & AM shows wouldn't be possible. He said he loved him like a brother. He went on to say he wanted to release an album of the 2nd Atlanta show and that they were cleaning it up of screaming from the audience. He said he wanted to do a few more shows first. They played the first 30 minutes for us later that night. He asked us to go to the soundstage because he wanted to show us something. He did not seem annoyed or in a bad mood to me. On his way to the soundstage he stopped and a lady had brought flowers for him. He whispered something to her, but didn't take the flowers. Once we were in the soundstage he had the piano uncovered and played a little bit of Chopsticks. He then brought out a purple guitar case and set it on the piano. He acted like he was afraid to open the case. He did and pulled out the guitar and told us he hadn't played it yet, because he was focusing on the piano. He told us about the time he went on tour with Tamar in 2006 and that his guitar playing got a lot better then, since that was all he was focusing on. He scolded some guy that was recording him with his cellphone and said "You're not supposed to be doing that". He was like, "You are going to erase that, right?". Security came and got the guy and escorted him out. After that Prince went back to the L4OA room and sat on the stairs and listened to the recording of the Atlanta show and talked to Tyka. Wow. Thank you for explaining for us. In retrospect, I wish I could have been there. Did you have any kind of feeling that would be the last time you would see him?

I think I know the quote you mean OP, he was playing something funky in the first Atlanta show and saying "I don't need no doctor" but meant it in reference to his old keyboard player Dr Fink
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
also at the second atlanta show, talking about needing dr. funk instead of fink. i think i read about him talking about fink/funk at a show in another city too? flowing through the veins of the tree of life...purplemaplesyrup

Absolutely not. The party was advertised as the first for the summer, meaning more were to come. Prince had plans to do more shows, release an album from P&AM, enjoy his new piano, and one day play his new guitar. All this talk about Prince knowing he was going to die is BS, imo of course. I feel very fortunate to have seen him one last time and see him play a little on the piano.

Yea, he also said something along the lines of "Don't believe what you hear in the news....wait a few days, etc." There was obviously something more going on than he was willing to tell us, (his friends) at the time. The question remains whether or not he would have ever told us (publicly) what was going on with him. A lot of people said he looked "worried" and "upset" during his last performance. Sadly, we will never know what was going on in his mind. I just feel like if he was in such poor health, he should have been in the hospital. It's just so heartbreaking and tragic what happened to him. What I can't get out of my head is that a doctor was brining him "test results" on the day he was found unresponsive. I just think this was all a terrible accident and Prince never meant for it to happen. I think the same thing. My friends and family thought I held it together pretty well when I found out he past but inside I felt devestated. I wish this was all a bad dream.
