If you could have one philosophical conversation with Prince.... ...and you could choose the topic what would you have enjoyed disscussing with him. Prince was a very intelligent man, especially as he grew older his world became less soley about just music but he became interested in religion, beoming an activist, African-American community/history, ect...and seemed to develop other interests...people who knew him said he enjoyed debate, lively converstation, learning from others...so knowing that if you could have sat down with him over coffee and talked with him and you could choose a topic what would you like to discuss with him?
I would have asked him what he thought of Evolutionary Psychology/Anthropology...I would be interested to know what he would think of certain theories and Human orgins and corosponding human behavior....

Thanks for this topic. I'd love to speak with him about spiritual discernment.

Great topic. I'd want to ask him about his spiritual life and experiences and "jam" with him about that.

I would ask him how he understood the relationship between sex and spirituality, and how that had changed over time in relation to becoming a JW. (I'd also want to know (but wouldn't dare ask) how he squared thinking of sex as a spiritual experience with being such a player, or whether he considered them in conflict, and if so, whether it was a conflict he would have preferred to have been able to resolve one way or another, and in what way (but yeah, that's a bit personal)). Not like I love my guitar....

I'd ask him to tell me more about his concept of time. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I'd ask him why he bangin' on 'bout God.

I'd love to talk to him about the scriptures. Faith. I'm sure he had some wonderful thoughts and experiences to share. His must have been a very unique viewpoint given his unusual circumstances. It would no doubt be interesting and faith strengthening.

. Teaching. He had much to teach about hard, hard work. Practice. How talent is the result of hard work plus dedication. I'd also have encouraged him to work with young men, who need so much guidance. . Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I enjoy music, but when taking piano, violin and guitar lessons as a kid, my fingers never were able to make the necessary movements to play so I stopped. When computerized programs that allowed music creation, I was able to enjoy those. I would want to discuss this with him because although I don't consider myself a musician by any stretch of the imagination, I want to understand something I heard him say about only real music is played by real musicians playing real instruments. It sort of made me sad to think that my lyrics and the accompanying small melody created in my head and hummed into a program smart enough to deconstruct it into instrumentation wouldn't be considered real music to him. I'd want to ask him if the goal of sharing music was to engage the listener and if my melody did that, wasn't it real music, too?

My guess is he'd say it is indeed real music when it comes from the heart. I understand your reaction, but I think he was talking about those songs created to make money without any heart and soul.

I would love to have a conversation about helping others. Nowadays so many people are wrapped up in themselves that we tend to forget about reaching out and helping somebody out Forever In My Life, forever in my heart. I love you Prince Rogers Nelson

I'd ask him who the song "Darling Nikki" is really about, and I be happy to sign my name on the dotted line of a non disclosure agreement. I'd ask him similar questions about other songs too. "I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters," Donald Trump

I'd just talk about anything... wherever the convo leads. I'd probably ask about his belief in reincarnation and souls and take it from there. I'm a skilled conversationalist so I know how to lead and follow

Just one!?!?!
I wanna know everything he knows!!!
What what was his exact experience with God and spirituality? How was he so sure of God - where did his faith come from? Where could I gain faith like his? What happens when we die? What did he think the afterworld was like? Had he ever had an otherwordly encounter/experience? What was his comprehensive understanding of the spiritual realm, the progression of human souls, God, and the angels roles, reincarnation, evil, etc...? How did he reconcile his personal behavior with that of God's guidelines? How could be so close to God when he was always intentionally sinning? I'd ask him about sin. Did he believe in reincarnation on any level? Why are we here? Why was he here specifically? What was his purpose/mission here on earth at this time? What was sexuality's place? Where wasn't it? Does God have one true religion or is there truth in some other world religions? Is evolution viable to him at all? The role of evil. Thoughts on Judaism, Hinduism, Buddism, Catholicism, Islam, and Protestantism. I'd want to have an indepth conversation about his political leanings and his understanding of politics as a whole. How could he possibly support BLM - both their actions and opinions? What was his full understanding of the left and the right? What would his ideal political system be and why? I'd want to know what he thought about nationalism/localism vs. globalism/federalism. Was he still a social anarchist? What did he think was the natural state of man? Are humans inherently good or inherently bad? Locke or Hobbs? Are people - average people - truly capable or ruling themselves? Can regular men truly direct their own step? What would he do, what changes would he make if he were King - not president - of America? Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, or something else? What did he think of the various economic systems? Order or chaos? Order or Justice? The great few rule the mediocre many? The mediocre many suppress the talents of the great few? A King or a Senate? Facism or Communism? Hitler or Stalin? I'd ask him about the music industry. Where has it been, where did he think it was going. What did he think was the best way to go about protecting the rights of artists in the future? How can we strengthen intellectual property rights? What were his exact thoughts on tech giants invading and taking advantage of the music industry? Is there any hope? What would be his ideal functionality of the industry as a whole (not that utopian mumbo-jumbo he was talking about with Tavis and in other interviews - an actual, structured system)? The money/royalties situation. Why are there no more icons being produced? His take on it. Did he know he was the last legend? How to fix the problems? Make Music Great Again! I'd want to have a discussion about black history and blackness. What were his personal experiences with racism? Gradualism or immediate abolition. His unique perspective on the treatment of black people throughout history? Why are people with darker skin treated worse everywhere on the planet? The role of black people in the grand context of the world and God's view. Ham? Are we cursed? Was he a Hotep-dude? Thoughts on the paganism prominent in African cultures? Did black people ever know God before Christianity/Abrahamic religions? What had he, personally, learned in his studies about black people and black history? How did he view himself as a black man? Black culture in the grand scheme of American history and culture? Where does he think he personally stands in the context of black history, music history, and American history in general? How influential did he know he was? Did he understand the full extent of his greatness? Miscellaneous Does health come from God or from diet and exercise? Could he elaborate on his views on time? What were his views on the role of technology? Could it go too far? Should their be limits on intrusive technologies? Should some technology be outlawed in the future? Thoughts on AI specifically. Thoughts on eugenics. Thoughts on genetic modification. Designer babies? Questions on treatment of people - do you really treat people how you would want to be treated? His opinion on the death penalty. What makes a good person? What makes a person bad? Moral relativism or univeral? Questions about his personal morality. Are we all truly equal or wishful thinking? Are some people better/more valuable/more useful/more worthwhile than others? Space travel. How would he deal with crime if he could?

Wow. That was a really long reply.

I simply wouldn't. I don't believe he had any answers. He was more gifted than most, yet his life was a mess more often than not.
