This comparison is absurd!

There's no way in "AECH" that M&M could be the next Prince! Lemme see M&M pick up a guitar, stand in front of a piano, and play them both at the same time!

He's aight at what he does but I dont see him being around 25 years from now.

All M&M does is rap. Prince is The Total Package!!

Whether or not a performer is around 25 years from now depends more on if the performer.has a solid fan base rather than how many instruments he can play. Madonna is an average performer with a marginal voice who can't play a kazoo but has transformed herself into an icon by reinventing her image over the years. Those who say that a rapper can't have longevity can look at LL Cool J, who has had his ups and downs but is doing very well again by reinventing himself. As far as musicianship, of course Prince wins hands down over Eminem..that wasn't the point of the thread; the point was more about can Eminem take his game to the next level like P did and parlay all of his accomplishments into something longterm

Both Grammy winners...both Oscar winners...both had #1 movies...both produced chart topping acts (although Dr. Dre had a lot of influence on Eminem)...both write controversial lyrics that alienate fans and detractors alike...does "E "have what it takes to be the next "P"?

there can only b 1 TRUE Prince...

What a stupid comparison... Apples and Oranges!!!

you guys take some of this shit so literally...of course Eminem is in a whole different genre of music than Prince, appealing to a fan base that probably isn't that far removed from the Kurt Cobain-Angry Man syndrome (over some phat beats, mind you)...I'm not a Em fan, but I do recognize that some of you discredit the man by saying that he has no chance to be successful down the road. After all, I'm sure most people thought the skinny motherfucka with the high voice who wouldn't speak on American Bandstand, wore high heels boots and thongs and got booed off the stage opening for the Stones would still be around after all these years.

I have no idea what you are talking about!!! I could care less if Enimem sells a billion records. It is still a stupid comparison...

hey opinions are like assholes...everybody's got at least one...comparing Prince and Barry Bonds is stupid..comparing two artists, no matter their genres is relevant.

someone on this thread said they'd give Eminem three years and he'd be done.Well three years IS already up and he still gets bigger and sells more each album.I respect him alot, and IMO lyrically he's every bit as clever as Prince ever was (in some aspects more so!)

Of course he isn't going to change genres like our man, but who'd really expect him to?.I think he is growing and maturing with his rhymes. There is a marked difference now though in his rapping compared to when he first hit the scene.

Anyone who uses the cheap 'Vanilla Ice' shot is way off-beam, or dare i say, jealous and possibly a non-caucasian (rap fan?) with an axe to grind cause a white boy is leading the pack.

"Opinions are like assholes" Whatever dude!!! Prince and Enimem completely different artists the only comparisons is based on commercial appeal. Right now Enimen is hot and that is great for him now will that last no.. he may not fade away because he has some talent as far as rappers go but that analogy you just made about Barry Bonds is also stupid.
