Love his shoes, but whenever I see them, I notice that the arch part looks wide. Not freakishly wide, but like the part of his feet right above his toes was wide. Then when you see a glimpse of his feet in pictures, that part looks wide and compact. His shoes all have the toe area longer and thinner and coming to a point to give his feet a slimmer appearance, but I finally figured out that Baby Boy had thick short feet. Funnily enough, they were slimmer and not as thick and stubby in the bathtub scene in UTCM. But I guess over the years they got wider cuz of the "dancer's feet" thing. Dancers feet tend to deform over time. I'll bet that hurts, too. Just something interesting that I noticed. [Edited 8/17/16 14:55pm]

I've noticed that too. There is a pic of him in white, he was sitting on the floor. His feet were thick and I smiled and said "Ooooh he had some thick stubby feet". LOL! He was still perfect.

About the shoes and the arch being wide... I am also 5'2". Wearing heels gives you height, but visually it also shortens the foot. (Think about how your foot shortens when you stand on your tiptoes.) If you're petite and trying to look taller (which most of us are), you can compensate for that in a few ways. One is to extend the length of the leg by wearing shoes that match your pants, creating a column of color, which you'll notice Prince usually did. (It's even more effective if you wear the same color head-to-toe, which he also frequently did.) Another way to give an illusion of height is to wear shoes with a pointed toe which extends past the end of your foot, visually lengthening the leg. Naturally there is a point where the foot ends and the shoe continues to taper to a point. I think that's what's going on here. I don't think the man had freakish feet, he was just sartorially on point!
