This is maddening! His FB page lists the 14th as Jakarta Indonesia but when you click for more info, it shows Bethesda, Maryland.

NEWS Prince tribute concert in jeopardy Lou Raguse, KARE 3 hours ago http://www.kare11.com/mb/.../318933175 So hopeless now? What's up Londell. 6 whole months. What a total disgrace to Prince....

We need to put the complexity of this estate and all of the legalities into perspective. No matter what happens, know this... The state of affairs of the tribute should in no way be associated with any lack of respect, love or appreciation of his fans by the family. There is an endless amount of love for Prince by everyone involved I'm sure. I know we all want this to happen, we just need to be patient. I'm sure we will hear definitive news soon. π

hmmm, I think the comments from Azoff sound encouraging. If they sell all the upper seats for $20 each, it would easily sell out still. I guess they have to work out every last detail before a contract can be signed, and have to sign before they can sell tickets. flowing through the veins of the tree of life...purplemaplesyrup

I was really hoping you'd have something to add YaThink. Thank you. The difficulty for everyone is just that there is virtually NOTHING coming out about the tribute, leaving everyone confused and upset, especially those who have spent money for airfare and hotel rooms, etc...already. The virtually complete lack of any communication about it is what the real problem is in my opinion. Welcome to "the org", Mumioβ¦they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end

Many people spent lots of money to be there after they told us to book our flights. 99% of the fans attending want nothing more than just to be together and celebrate prince. After everything that has happened I really believe they should arrange something. If nothing happens, I think all of us fans that are attending need to band together and do something to show our unity and appreciation for the man "Paisley Park is in your Heart"

I agree. In August I had been thinking about booking PP tickets and hotels but something kept me from doing so. They need to have a party that night at PP. 10pm-3am. Show videos, have a DJ bascially a Dance party for those that have spent money. Maybe even sale tickets at the door starting the day before and those that can prove they have spent money on airfare and hotels get tickets first. More of a presale the day before

That would work for me. That's about what I'm thinking now. Watch recorded Prince concerts, videos, DJ playing music, etc. Any of that would be great.

its kind of funny that Prince deserves a megatribute and yet even a megatribute pales compared to prince -- i'm just glad about the pp tours and will be glad after October 6 to confirm they will happen flowing through the veins of the tree of life...purplemaplesyrup

I feel sorry for people who have booked tickets etc, but we don't really know who's running all this stuff. Is it just the lawyers or his family or both. There's no real figure head to contact except maybe londell. There's still alot of dust to settle yet. With Princes death, estate and the lot. Maybe people are trying to move too quick. The biggest mistake has not having a proper funeral for family and fans a like. That would have given some kind of closure. At least to the people of Minneapolis who have been lovely and respectful to Princes memory.

I'm one of those people who booked way ahead (early August) when this event was announced. I wanted to be sure that If I was going to this, to made it a first class experience. I booked a non-refundable airfare, pricey hotel, rental car, VIP tickets, movie tickets, bus tour tickets. If it was offered, I bought it. It will sadden me if a tribute is not held but I am coming to MN either way. (esp since so much is non refundable) If there is someone on here from the estate or family reading this, just know how much we were looking forward to this. MN residents had a couple of opportunities at first ave and going to PP that many of us who live out of state have not had. I don't know if you would even be willing to send a private message to those of us who have asked for udates on the MN concert events and offer some options up. We'll be there. Help us do it right. We are all here still supporting Prince's work. Acknowlege us. Peace out.

What gets me is why was Mint Condtion's manager sent an email that informed him that the concert MAY not happen? Yet others are saying it will! Who sent the email to Mint Condition's manager? .... http://www.kare11.com/new.../318933175 ......
The manager for the only band confirmed to be playing in the October 13 Prince tribute concert now says the event might not happen.Al Manerson, CEO of Red Velvet Entertainment and manager of Twin Cities-based Mint Condition, said in an email he just found out Wednesday afternoon that the concert might not take place.
Seems even the artists that want to play/can play the tribute are getting conflicting messages! BrownMark being told it will happen yet Mint Condition being told it wont?...confused here.....

If its not going ahead as planned, then I think they need to say now (so some of us can cancel of bookings) and pick a date next year. .

Sounds like they are trying to do everything they can. I wonder why this wouldn't be easy to put together. There must be a lot of fighting going on behind the scenes.

I had been told a couple of months ago that a big problem was which TV channel/network would pay more - there was a dispute among the "heirs." But it now seems that the personnel necessary to organize such an event were not in place. IMO this should be done next June, but I hope for the fams going to Minneapolis that you will have a wonderful time, tribute concert or not.

I was trying to remain positive and keep the faith this whole time. But now, under a month away, it's getting disheartening Why would they make such bold statements like #PurpleArmy - make your travel arrangements! I'm with Jay on this one. Something needs to be happening in place of this for all of us fams that DID take those instructions to heart and booked our accommodations, tours, travel (and fundraisers) according to that message. Dance where y'are, just groove y'all.

At this point I don't think it's too much to ask for a YES or a NO, so we can work on making something else (if they are not going to plan something in its place) Dance where y'are, just groove y'all.

It's absolutely unconscionable that those in charge of this tribute concert would make announcements such as that above to grieving fans who made travel plans based on their asserrtions before all the arrangements were finalized. Truthfully, I'm not sure the potential heirs (family) are able to have any control over this at this time, the estate is still in probate and no one has been deemed an official heir yet. If they haven't been named, there's no money to put this on yet and they probably have no say at all. It was noted elsewhere that the two other events that were put on by family DID happen in early-mid August, but the cost just isn't comparable to a large tribute event in a 50k+ seat stadium. I'm only saying this because if there is blame, it doesn't belong on the family's shoulders, it belongs on whoever it is that was in charge of putting this all together...like Londell? and probably Bremer Trust. Weren't there financial stipulations set by the judge on expenses that could be approved by Bremer? An event like this would no doubt have exceeded the max limit. Welcome to "the org", Mumioβ¦they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end
